The side panels are meant to fit in to the front bracket with tabs on the panels fitting in to slots on the bracket. The tabs don't align with the slots. I opened the slots with a Dremel as mentioned in another review. But that just weaken the connection and the weight of the radio just makes the tabs pop out. I'll be replacing with a kit that the side panels are permanently attached to the front bracket. The wire harnesses and antenna wire works great. Was unclear on why there was a red wire included as it was not mentioned in the instructions. But when sorting the wires I realized there is no 12v ignition lead to turn the radio off. Just a 12v always on lead. The red wire attaches to a terminal in a connector box near the brake pedal. Labeled as block 14 post 8 which is the lower left post. Then ran the wire up behind the dash to the radio compartment. This would be for a 2007-2014 Chevy Silverado 1500.

Most importantly, this thing will not work for an 07-13 Chevy Silverado. Even if you rig and bypass certain stuff for the separate 12v power wire they supply, you will short out your dash eventually. You cannot steal power from another fuse. They all stay hot. You need to get the interface JCGM29. If you don’t need the external power thingy (which also controls your blinker sound door chimes etc) you should know the wiring harnesses themselves were nearly impossible to figure out as none of the wires were labeled and it did not come with a diagram or schematic. I emailed the seller thinking maybe mine was a one off and they could provide it by email and gave them about a month to respond. Nothing. Additionally, the plastic siding pieces don’t line up with any aftermarket stereo I tried. When it didn’t fit with the bolt pattern on the stereo I intended to use it with, I tried lining it up with a different one, still nope. I had to fashion my own using what came with the stereo and a dremel. The bezel for the dash sits nice but that’s the only thing that’s alright about this kit. Buy something else.

I found the plastic very wanting. Two tabs on each side of the deck? I got it installed but I do wonder if the will remain stable. I will not buy again....

The fit left a little to be desired but it does fill in the gap’s. Wiring is simple and straight forward and saves $50 over using an interface and you only lose the chime and turn signal click. Overall it’s a great kit for my $2000 car.
