Love the magnetic mount. Just put the suction cup on your windshield & the unit easily slips on & off. Still on my free trial for escort live & haven't checked the subscription price yet, but it's fantastic. Picks up every radar, even air patrol. Settings are easy. Do NOT buy an Escort Redline EX, unless you have money to waste on a worthless automotive accessory. I have owned many radar detectors over the years, and I decided to go all out this time and buy what I thought would be the best. What a mistake! The problem with most radar detectors is false alarms. Well, they are not a problem with this POS. If radar detectors were cartoon characters, this one would be Mr. Magoo. I put up with this thing for 4 months until I finally decided to list it on eBay last night, hoping that I can recover most of what I paid, but feeling a bit guilty that somebody else is going to get stuck with such a worthless device. During the course of those 4 months, I have NEVER gotten more than 1/10 mile of warning. To the contrary, in most instances, I would SEE the speed trap myself before the radar detector would warn me. Often, the alarm would first sound when I was within 100 feet or passing directly in front of a police car. I cannot overemphasize how utterly bad the performance of this unit has been. I have visited forums where others have expressed similar experiences, with some speculation that the powerful magnet that mounts the unit to your windshield is interfering with sensitivity. Whatever the reason for the poor performance, I can only suggest that buyers look elsewhere. Spend a LOT less money on a device that works! ... show more

So I have received this detector.. April Friday 5.2019...I head to see myself, yes some of the bad reviews are true about .the unit go off bad signals ..i mean it was real bad , but I dent gave up on it , I did some reading ..an i found that i needed to go to there website an Re-download for this unit firmware all of it..an I did a refresh on the app for my note 8 ...so I put it back in my car...went back out an to a nuther long drive...call the fost signals stop it was quite...about 5 miles...it went off with a fost signals at GT gas station..I was like.. that ok, I block it ..kept moving ..then I got a signal that someone spotted a Police...so the Police logo show up on the unit an my phone show me the location..then I said..humm ok..I thank going to there website an re-install the software all of it sho a big Difference...an the mean time .. I will gave it five star I will be back by April Thursday 11..2019.. if I see something bad about it going on ... if it all good you wont see my next review... ... show more

The range is about 65% of the original Redlines range due to the overtaxed CPU in the detector. Since I'm a commercial driver I need stealth and this was the only one on the market to have it completely. The build quality is decent for being built in the Philippines but not as good as the older Canadian built Redlines. To get the most range out of it, turn off RDR and KA band, turn on Ka segments 2, 5, and 8. The mount didn't sit level on my windshield so I had to order a blendmount to mount it on the mirror. Update: after two weeks with it the kband falsing is insane even segmented and autoloK mode. It's going back. ... show more

I have a speeding problem, I used to find myself accidentally going over the speed limit all the time. Until I finally paid for one of these. If I had bought this a year ago, it would have paid for itself AND saved money. My favorite features of this radar is the amazing sensitivity, the speed indicator, and over speed notification (which may annoy others but save my butt) One of my past speeding tickets was based on video evidence, so it's possible to be ticketed even if there was no radar speed reading. That's why I find the over speed limit feature useful. Furthermore, the radar detector can detect a k-band radar before I even see the police car, whether I'm in the neighborhood, city, highway, hills, or forestry area. The alarm helps me be mindful of my speed so that I don't overspeed with my lead foot. The app isn't very popular in my city, so unfortunately using community features of the Escort app is not very useful. You're better off using Waze for community features, and use the Escort app to configure the radar detector. ... show more
