Description

V1 Gen2 is an entirely new security instrument that outperforms by a clear margin even the most highly-evolved version of V1. Inside the all-new magnesium case is an all-new, and patented, radar-seeking engine adapted from a concept used by military CHIRP radars to find fainter targets farther away with higher precision. Ka-band range is impressively better in V1 Gen2. K-band range is also improved. Our new SAW-D2L and LNA technologies enable this substantial range increase over traditional V1 while also providing a breakthrough in stealth. The Valentine One V1 Gen 2 radar detector is highly appreciated by users for its long range and effectivity in avoiding traffic tickets. Reviewers testified that the device has an impressive ability to detect police radars before they could be spotted. The V1 Gen 2 is also accompanied by an app, although users noted that settings can potentially be complicated and multi-faceted to adjust. One user did mention poor quality suction cups for mounting, resulting in additional cost for a better mount.

Pros

  • 👌 Great at detecting police before they detect you
  • 💪 Long range
  • 🔕 Little to no false alerts
  • 🛡️ Helps effectively in avoiding traffic tickets

Cons

  • 🤔 Potentially complicated settings navigation
  • 🔄 Adjustment of settings mainly on the app
  • 👎 Poor quality of suction cups for mount

Should I Buy It?

If you're often on the road and want an effective tool to evade traffic tickets, this product comes highly recommended by users. The con of potentially complicated settings and the extra cost for a better mount are worth considering, but overall it's testified to be an excellent radar detector.

  • Very nice, quality worth the price for detection
I at first wondered about the price if it was worth but I can say yes. Great radar detection hardly any false alarms. The directional arrows are very accurate. Not easily detected which a great bonus.

  • FAR more range than my escort
that's all you need to know lol. this thing is so much better than any other radar detector i've had, simply becuase of the range. only thing i had to get used to is that its so sensitive that sometimes it'll be displaying a '1' on the strength and as i discovered the hard way when i first had the valentine, that '1' could very possibly mean its picking up instant-on radar from a half mile away. so nowadays as soon as it starts going off with a '1' on the strength, i slow down, '2' or above is 'danger zone' lol. also, the directional arrows are super useful. never had those on my other detectors. very good to know if a cop is coming up on my six ... show more

  • V1 gen2 is good or not good!
I have owned redline ex for more than a year!I originally wanted to buy redline ex 360C before buying V1 Gen2,Also considered for a long time, and Amazon only has max 360, which is not what I want, because I once had a few days, which is not ideal in use! I've watched it for a long time, including youtube, vortex reader, rdforum, Valentine 1, etc….! Amazon's purchase is a lot more expensive. Because it can't be purchased from Valentine 1 website, I chose stoobies electronics to buy it. It's an original box with seals. After opening, I see the beautiful and lightweight fuselage, and I have a new feeling! I didn't use it immediately because I had questions. Is such a small box really OK? In recent days, I have been driving two machines and testing them repeatedly. What's the difference between the two? At first, I still relied heavily on redline ex! Because it has been used for more than a year, habit is one of the reasons. Another reason is that the red line immediately screamed at the instant on radar and found the band in an emergency! I don't know how many of them are true or false, but the experience judgment is true, and the laser radar will be sent when passing the police vehicle, so this is the advantage of redline ex! Moreover, I'm still exploring the settings of V1 Gen2. The original v1connection app USA or Euro mode is set. Ku band is set in Euro mode, which is why I bought it! The reception is not ideal, and the setting may be wrong? But it is very sensitive to Ka band, and low-power K band is also very good, Only instant on radar did not respond, only redline ex!The setting of jvb1 app is very complicated! I don't know how to set, try for a long time, too abstruse, not ideal! It's terrible! Again, delete the app and log files, and then download the program. Today, I didn't change the settings, just a very common change settings! This is what the V1 manual mentions:(Laser Warning! How To Mount,Follow mounting instructions on pages 14-15. Laser Warning requires more care in mounting. Remember that laser is infrared light, and the light path to Valentine One could be blocked by certain materials that are transparent to radar!)Replay the position and remove the transparent adhesive film (installed on the vehicle)! Try this route again without a signal. This time, it sends the signal simultaneously with the red line ex. However, the frequencies of the two are different, V1 receives more, and the low frequency is 24.020... On another section of highway, the constant speed box also measured 24.023/24.021 low-frequency signals on both sides, but redline ex did not respond。At the exit of the other high-speed tunnel, the laser radar signal was received. After repeated tests, redline ex did not respond。In addition to the instant on radar problem, I believe V1 Gen2 is absolutely superior. I don't know! Is it a programming problem or the hardware does not exist? If it is a programming problem, I hope to upgrade the support. I hope Michael D. Valentine will hear it! Another message? I don't know whether I am happy or unhappy after receiving Ku band 13.439/13.501. If there is Ku band radar in my area, it's actually not a good thing! K verifier off! I don't like it because it's very easy to fall into a trap. I closed redline ex and tried everything just mentioned. V1 Gen2 is officially in operation! I don't have a comparison test between redline ex 360C and v1 Gen2! Because I don't have it. So, I'm not sure about the difference. I am learning new sounds, visions, messages and directions, which should grow up from primary school students, (Omtex mild steel USA stalker speed radar gun, I believe it is in use in my region, because I suddenly scream many times during the operation of redline ex, and the message shows stalker 24.080 or more! It can last more than 1km for a long time!V1 Gen2 no signal or crazy crying, be careful! However, why can V1 Gen2 receive the stalker Ka band? Why can't V1 Gen2 receive stalker K band? Excellent performance, but the program and system must be updated unless the hardware is not supported!)This is a reputable store! It's worth buying V1 Gen2 here! stoobies electronic ... show more

  • Shockingly good
I haven’t tried radar detectors in years because they went off constantly. I decided to give this a try after a few tickets lately and let me tell you. The hype is real. This thing has saved my butt multiple times. If the officer is lazy and leaves his radar on you’ll know he’s around more than a mile or two away. If he’s turning it off and on you’ll still get alerted a long way away but you’ll need to be aware and pay attention. I can go all day around town and it not even go off once so when it does you know there’s something up. It’s funny because when I leave it in my other vehicles and drive without it I feel naked. So I bought another one. I love when they’re behind you a mile or two and it alerts and eventually here he comes. Saved me from some stupid tickets. Just yesterday I was doing 80 in a 65 and it started alerting and I jumped up into the slow lane. There had been someone behind pacing me and you could tell he knew I had a detector because he followed me into the slow lane. It took forever but finally came upon a highway patrolman leaving his radar “always on”. Once past, back to the fast lane. ... show more

  • It's a Valentine
This is probably one of the best radar detectors you can get on the market today. I used it for a little while but I never got a chance to really use the detector. I bought it for a cross country trip I was going on with the family by plans fell through and we didn't go so I ended up returning it. I plan on purchasing one for day-to-day use but when I do I will go through the actual manufacturer and not a third-party as the manufacturer didn't have an inflated price. ... show more

  • Nice.
This does not have a lot of bells and whistles and that’s why I purchased it. It has been remarkably effective at longer distances. It does however make some noise in the shopping centers where I don’t need it so I just lower the volume. Highly recommend if you don’t fancy apps.

  • Cheap brackets can’t properly hold this heavy and bulky unit
Cheaply made with brackets that fail to hold this heavy unit in place. Suction cups don’t work and heavy unit falls off. Unit moves around and is not sturdy set on visor or windshield. I usually go with K40 or Radenso, but I thought I’d try this to avoid excess shop time install on built in systems like I have in my other cars. No way will I use this cheap product! This was to go in my Maserati GT2 Stradale. I set it on the windshield and 2 minutes later it fell and dinked my infotainment unit. Didn’t even get to turn it on as the brackets and suction cups were enough to return this junk. ... show more
