The EcoPlus® ECOair3 Commercial Grade Air Pump 1030 GPH is used to provide oxygen in aquariums and hydroponic systems. Its case is made of high-quality ZL 102 aluminum alloy with radiation fins to allow for more effective heat- dissipation. Driven by an electromagnetic motor, the EcoPlus® ECOair3 Commercial Grade Air Pump 1030 GPH adopts a straight-line reciprocal motion to produce air, and is more reasonable in structure. It also features wear- resistant material for the cylinder and piston, which is of lower consumption. This air pump has an oil-free, lubricated design, and distributes purified compressed air. Works great as a bubble for 5 gallon bucket of compost tea. Good value, quiet and doing it's job so far. .

  • Was worth it even at the original higher price
Size: 793 GPH Style: Fixed Flow
I've been running this pump 24/7 under a fake rock next to my pond for just over a year. Yesterday I noticed that the aeration had stopped, and the sound coming from the rock was louder than normal. Upon further inspection, I found that it was barely generating any pressure. Without resistance, it was still moving air, but there was not enough pressure to drive the aerator. I took it apart to find about a half-cup of fine dust and sand inside the center of the pump (where the motor resides). The piston shaft that is supposed to move up and down between the stators was nearly seized in place. I had to work it quite hard to get it out completely - at which point I'd found the teflon/graphite surfaces so badly scored by the sand, that I immediately ordered a replacement. I had little hope of getting it to work again. However, with a little bit of steel wool and WD40, I managed to get the parts to once again slide evenly. The diaphragms on either side of the piston were dusty, but not deformed or damaged in any way. I thoroughly cleaned all the remaining items, and reassembled it. To my surprise, the aerator came alive with the same pressure/flow I would expect from a new pump. I was quite surprised with how simple the teardown and reassembly was, and it has boosted my confidence in the design and construction. I will keep the new one as a spare, as I suspect the "slop" introduced in the wear surfaces probably will diminish the remaining life. The intake filter (nothing more than a fine sponge) was saturated with sand and dust. Clearly, this was operator error, and I have now redesigned how the pump is mounted under the fake rock. Hopefully that will reduce the amount of debris that finds its way into the pump. Overall, a strong recommendation. ... show more

  • Pump is good, but they forget a piece
Size: 793 GPH Style: Fixed Flow
Didn't receive the air converter with the pump. Made connecting it very difficult. It is my fault for not building the system for more than 1.5 years after i bought it though : D

  • This thing is ripping! Great airflow!
Size: 793 GPH Style: Fixed Flow
I'm using this for about 2200 gallons. My fish are hibernating in extremely well oxygenated water. I ended up just using 4 instead of 6 because it pushes so much air that my 3.5ft pond is getting bubbles everywhere. I had a different kind that needed 6 and still had still water areas. This thing really pushes some air through. It's a slight hum, but this is an outdoor pond and I hardly can hear it. I have to walk to the pump house to make sure it is on. And it's much more affordable that the other brand we had. Our old one had a know that turned it all the way up or down and we had to have it on max all the time, so for us, this one not having that feature is actually nice because you can't accidentally bump it and turn the air flow down. I highly recommend this for fellow fish pond owners. My fish are all happily hiding in their rocks instead of trying to hibernate near the diffusers. Huge yay! ... show more

  • Two issues
Size: 3566 GPH Style: Fixed Flow
The product is very powerful, it works very, very, well. There are two issues, one it runs so hot the metal air hose distributor with all of the rubber hoses attached to it gets so hot you can burn your hand. Not the unit itself, the metal splitter that attaches with the hose. The second issue is that the hose needs to be clamped to the unit and to the metal distributor/splitter, otherwise the air blast is so strong it just keeps coming off at the splitter end. I bought plumbing clamps at the local hardware store and now having attached them the hose does not come off. I guess the final issue is that it is not waterproof. I have it outdoors for a 750 gallon fish pond (It is way to much pump for this size pond, but that is what I wanted) and I have to put something over it to keep the rain off but not completely over it because it runs so hot. I actually have the splitter up off the ground on a metal flowerpot turned sideways because I am concerned about vegetation catching fire. I am going to get a cement paver to put everything on so that won't be an issue. I definitely like the pump, it seems very well made and is a beast pushing out air, you just have to know a couple of things before you buy it. ... show more

************************************************UPDATE**************************************************** I decided not to go through the hassle of returning this pump and give it another chance and ended up bumping it to four stars. I realize that when it conked on me we were having severely hot weather. It's been running just fine now and puts out a good amount of air, I haven't check the liter flow lately but it seems to be working fine. The key to this pump is to shut it down on extremely hot days and it will probably work fine for years. It's a good buy for the money. I was all set to write a rave review for this air pump! It came with a very nice heavy duty manifold (which was a pleasant surprise) and appears to be well made...and the price is very reasonable. When I first plugged it in, I was blown away at the amount of air it produced and when I put the liter flow gauge to it...I was even more impressed! I mounted it to a nice piece of wood then found the ideal place to keep it near my pond, I plugged in 2- 5" stones and all was great! Then about an hour later, I was walking by the pond and I noticed one of the stones wasn't producing any air and the other was very slow. So I reached down to pick up the pump and it was hot enough to burn my hand. I unplugged and took it in the house and let it cool down. After about 30 minutes I plugged it back in and ran the flow meter and it was running about 19 LPM (about half of what I had before) I checked the intake to make sure nothing had gotten in there but it was clean. I have it running in my pond again at the moment but I'm sending this thing back. If it conks after only an hour it will leave me high and dry somewhere down the road. Apparently this type pump has a poor track record of overheating so...I'm going to have to find something different. I loved this pump...for about an hour...so sad! ... show more
