Great coop for what I needed it for: To house my crooked beak silkie and my new chicks. I painted it to protect it from the harsher weather and for the longevity of the coop. Need to add one more coat and sealer. I accidentally attached the wrong side (where the chicken door/ramp is) but it still works great as I keep that door open anyway. This Coop is not perfectly sturdy but will be great with reinforcement. I keep this mini coop in another enclosed fenced coop area so they can roam around safely. The inside is awesome and roomy. I like this coop for what I need it for and adding paint for protection is definitely worth it if you want to get more out of it. The price is great and I’m overall very satisfied with this purchase. It was easy to assemble. After I painted the pieces, I assembled in about an hour. Turned out cute!

I bought it knowing how expensive materials are and how much my time is worth designing, cutting, and all of the other tasks required when building a nice looking chicken coop from scratch. For under $200 delivered to my door, I do think it is a good deal, so far. We will see how long it lasts. Thinking about painting or otherwise protecting the wood. I don't plan to move it much, but I am still planning to mount it atop a sled to slide it across the ground without shaking it up too much. THE WOOD IS VERY THIN. That is great to keep it light, but not so great at making it strong. Some simple reinforcements will go a long way to beef it up. The perches provided are small diameter wood rods that are not adequate for all but the smallest chickens. I am changing mine to a piece of 3/4" ×1.5" it before I put the roof on. The instructions are only drawings so take your time to see which way and where you are placing parts during assembly.

I’m very half with this coop. It is only big enough for two chickens. I intentionally left out a few steps, like the door handle to enter the coop. It was weird. I also am not a fan that there is not access to the coop under the nesting box. But it was easy to put together, and in one had to redo a few screws

Update: I’ve had the cage a year now. I still think it was worth the money. And I will probably get another winter out of it. After about three months, the screws that attached the pool handle to the sliding coop door pulled out from rot and had to be replaced. The nesting box tilting lid warped I no longer closes properly. I ended up attaching additional latches to the tilting egg box lid, and the doors. They made it a bit more secure. For the Missouri winter, I added extra hay and straw to the roof, and wrapped it with a tarp as a wind barrier. I also covered the coop door with plastic bag and duct tape so that wind wouldn’t blow in on the chickens. They wintered over quite well. Original post: I read all the reviews and they were right. The instructions left off a few things. The pull out tray is cracked across one corner. The roof cap has long cracks in it that I had to caulk. A couple of the frames holding the wire they were broken.. it took about five hours, but we got it together. I added extra latches to help make it more secure from predators. We also had to add roosting perches because they are not included. It is way too small for three adult guineas. It might be OK for four Banty, but they would be crowded. That being said, it is serving the purpose that I purchased it for and providing temporary shelter while I relocate my guineas. the guy who assembled it for me, said that it was not a waste of money, and that having the pre-cut, and assembled parts saved him time and effort because he didn’t have to find other tools and acquire all of the parts to build the cage.

Way too small for a regular sized chicken, saying it can fit 2-4 is overselling it for sure. It would be better with maybe 2 full grown bantams sized chickens or to use for chicks until they were big enough to move to a more appropriate sized coop. Also the wood is extremely cheap and thin, some of the pre-drilled holes didn't line up right so you had to drill your own or split the wood. I had to reinforce the bottom with boards I cut at home to make it more sturdy and less of a topple over risk. Also the board up into the hen house broke away as soon as a hen tried to go up it so I had to reinforce that as well with another board. The instructions aren't too clear on a few things but if you've ever put anything together before it's not awful. The assembly overall was done by myself only in a few hours so that wasn't horrible but the roof is already bubbling up from sitting in the sun so I'll have to put a new roof. Honestly price wise you'd be better off buying your own materials and could make a bit bigger coop and run that is better quality material for the same price if not less. I'll probably return this or use it for chicks.

For what it is..great tiny coop. It is far easier to drill some holes that don't match than to design and purchase all the materials to make this on your own. I like the design and it is perfect for 2 or 3 chickens. The nesting box design is great and love the ability to slide the bottom out for cleaning. Just be aware this is very small and three hens is actually pushing it a bit. It is light enough my spouse and I can move it. I will update if we have any issues with security as far as predators. The material is thin, but our coop part is in a barn and will have a heating panel. If this was outside in a harsh winter would add some type of insulation. So far it seems sturdy enough.

The coop looks very nice, and it is fairly easy to assemble. I have four problems with the coop. First, looking at the picture in the ad, it is hard to tell is that it is too small for multiple chickens. Chicken beds are usually 12" wide. This coop only has 20" for the beds. True, chickens can share beds, but it will be crowded. Second, the run beneath the coop is too small for more than 3 birds. Third, the wood is flimsy, and fourth, the wire sides are attached on the inside of the exterior wall instead of the outside (this allows outside critters to push the wire in and get to the chickens). On the plus side, the instructions were easy to read, and the pieces were all predrilled. If you are going to only raise 2 chickens, this good looking coop will do; if you are going to raise more than 2 chickens, go with something much bigger and sturdier.
