Like many folks I bought this charger to deal with "dirty electric" from a conventional generator. While using the batteries and inverter to power our house on my solar system there are no lights flickering etc. By using this charger connected to a generator and using battery power I can power my house during a power outage without worrying about damage to electronic devices. I just purchased this unit so I have no long-term review to provide but it does work very well, it can provide a full 60-amp charge. It pretty much set itself up even detected the battery type. The only change I made was the charge amperage which was default set at max I lowered it to try and help the charger to live longer and not run too hot. The only other safe option I know of would be an inverter generator which an equivalent size is more than 3 times the cost of my generator. Also, by using the charger/battery setup there is a constant draw of current from the generator eliminating the possibility of over-loading it. The batteries can easily handle any power surge caused by the heat pump etc. kicking on. So far, I really like this charger, if any problems occur, I will come back and edit this review. I have no other experience with Eco-Worthy, but this item seems to be very well made, and I like the smart features it has. There is a port labeled Wi-Fi but it doesn't connect, and the manual lists it as "reserved terminal". The bms on my batteries are not compatible with this charger so I can't comment on the battery "CAN" communication option. All in all, I am so far very satisfied with this purchase.

While this is listed as a lithium battery charger, it can also charge Lead-acid batteries. This charger is solid, and works out of the box without fuss. It further includes a battery side / output side breaker switch, which allows you to connect it to your "48v" battery bank *without arc risks.* Once connected, you can activate the breaker and the system is ready to go. The unit is roughly the size of a shoe-box, keeping the footprint compact. Out of the box, the unit is pre-wired with an L14-30 male connector, about 1m in length. Additionally, it's prewired on the output side with an inline fuse. The mounting kit is flimsy and should be ignored immediately. Among many other chargers I have used, this unit was made with the intelligence to slowly ramp up the charging current to max, allowing generators of varying quality to ease into the 3.25kW load. Combine this with the price and the whole solution is an incredible value.

The enter button bogus (makes it hard to program). Has bad feel to it, works sometimes other not. Otherwise seems like a pretty good device, will return shortly.

I like the locking NEMA L14-30 male receptacle, but I needed a 5-15 and it was provided, but I didn't like the quality so I used my leviton heavy duty and the 10AWG used in the power cord is great. The battery cables were not copper barrel crimp type but the wrap around clamp type. I have not done conductivity tests but it's visuaally different than the other battery cables. I hope it's an upgrade and not a compromise. The wiring diagram provided was perfect as the conductors are labeled l1 and l2 but not color coded as in the manual (brown and blue). It shipped with the breaker on, so I connected the battery cables to my bank with the breaker off and the charger plugged in, then turned breaker on and it fired up. No programming required. Fully charged my 10kW bank from approx 30% in about 2 hrs. Communicated with the ecoworthy batteries. I didn't hook it up to my Calpha (Shenzhen) 3500W inverter. It was loud but I have it in a cabinet in the winter so the little heat it blows off is good for the cabinet and the noise is quieter than the generator I run once every evening for a few hours to top off when the sun hours diminish. I hope it lasts and I enjoy many years of use. This charger is saving my a** right now with the winter storm that just rolled through the midwest. I've been running my old troy built 5500 watt generator to power this eco-worthy charger and I have it maxed out at 60 amps putting 3200w into my 28.4kwh battery bank. I ran it for about 5 hours straight today, and about 4 hours yesterday, and will probably have to run it tomorrow as I'm fully off grid and have no grid power to rely on. Side note, this has a soft start unlike a lot of the youtube reviews stated. This version 2 slowly applies the power and doesn't hit the generator hard.

Great device and it works great with my battery setup to charge them up when the weather hasn't been great and I need to top them off. Amazon support from Eco Worthy has been really fantastic and very responsive.

A great addition to our solar system. Has a much quicker charge now instead of just running the generator to the EG4. Using this charger on snowy days to recharger 6 server rack batteries.

Customer service is top notch! I purchased this charger, 6 server rack batteries and the battery display. The very next day the charger went on sale. Expecting nothing but still willing to ask the refunded the difference to honor the sale price. I plan to buy eco-worthy inverters, more batteries, and solar panels now. I will also add while I have not had the chance to use anything just yet I have powered some of it up and it is working properly so far. This stuff is also extremely nice looking and appears to super rugged. Take note this stuff is heavy!
