After buying this treadmill and it was a not working straight out of the box made me give it a 1 star. I gave it a one star because Amazon was kind enough to acknowledge that this treadmill is a dud and will give back my money and not charge me for any fees including delivery and or pick up of the defective treadmill. I paid $20 bucks to have it delivered to the room of choice and I tipped the guys $20 bucks as I'm sure they don't directly receive the $20 dollars for doing all the hard work. The bottomline for us the consumer(s) is the fact that this machine did not work and it is my duty to let others know that yours may or may not work as soon as you plug it in. It has to be the MOST COMPLICATED TREADMILL on the planet, PERIOD!! The steps one must take is absolutely insane. I implore you NOT to buy this unless you want to go through possible pain as I did for hours trying to resolve the issue of it not working as it should have but man this was the worst experience of a treadmill and I have been walking on treadmills since 1997 and technology back 26 yrs ago was better then it is on this particular treadmill. Perhaps you can buy it and spend approx $1,700 with tax and you may be very happy with it but I didn't not have any luck. ... show more

I would like to give this treadmill a four or higher stars but I gave it a three. The treadmill was delivered to the room that I wanted it to setup, the delivery guys were not allowed to set it up.     • Product damaged - Functions do not work - Poor Customer Support

1 star because basic functions work. I purchased the upgraded version (Stride-S) to use the video scenes, teaching and coaching. Could not get any video scenes to appear and could not get the treadmill to sync with Fitbit or phone (no sound). Messaged the support desk multiple times. They referred me to their firmware department which am still waiting for a response. Could have saved a few hundred dollars and bought the cheaper version without a video screen since this one is worthless. There are several programmed functions with no documentation. Had to message Customer support to identify & describe the programed functions. Even then, they could not fully describe the program levels. Customer support for this product is very poor. They have limited knowledge of the product. We bought this because we needed something to collapse flat. For that it works. Although, there is a lot of vibration / movement while Holding onto the arms just walking (poor construction/design). Cannot recommend this product to anyone.     • Great Treadmill but awful technical support!

So I bought the Echelon Stride-S. I would rate this 5 stars because this is a great treadmill but the first one I got was a lemon and I was not impressed by Echelon’s technical support. The first treadmill I received would not start and gave me an “E00” message. I talked with Echelons customer service and they asked me to take a picture and send to them and they would get back to me the following week. I then called Amazon for possible technical help and they were able to get Echelon on the phone again and the support person said it was a faulty cord and they would order me a new one. Cord came on a week later, and got the same error code. I called Amazon and they offered to return and I ordered a new one. While the second treadmill was on the way, Echelons technical support for the first call in finally got back to me 2 weeks later and said the error code means the entire button panel needs to be replaced. I advised that I returned the first one and they apologized for the delay. The second treadmill works great! It’s compact, fairly quiet and really easy to use and I love the automatic incline. My only concern is if it breaks down, I know the technical support is not great so hoping it lasts a long time. So if you buy and get the “E00” error code, don’t bother with jt and just contact Amazon to get a new one because it is not worth the hassle. ... show more

    • Decent treadmill ruined by disjointed screen integration

I bought the Stride-S and was expecting a tablet/touchscreen-integrated experience similar to Nordictrack. The treadmill itself has a good motor, but the belt seemed to "skip" at jogging speeds (I'm about 190 lbs. and only experienced this with cheaper treadmills). The treadmill also creaked a little, but other than that, seemed to be well built. Now to the cons - the tablet/touchscreen is very poorly integrated. It's probably the cheapest and laziest integration I've ever seen. The touchscreen essentially functions as a separate device. It doesn't adjust speed or slope when using the built-in videos. You also can't adjust speed or slope through the tablet (it all has to be done through the treadmill's controls). The Echelon app seems to be running on an old version of Android, and 3 components are separately updated: the tablet itself, the app, and firmware for the treadmill. The Android version is so old, the first update causes the treadmil to enter an update loop. The only way to apply the update is to unplug the treadmill and plug it back in. After that, there's about a half-hour worth of updates to each component (touchscreen, app, and firmware). The workout videos are so...awkward. They're low quality, and it sounds like they used a rather cheap microphone while recording the instructors (the audio and breathing can get super loud at certain points). Well, what if you want to use your tablet instead of the built-in touchscreen? You'll need to rotate the control board, so it's parallel to the ground because there is no tablet holder/ridge. I covered up the touchscreen with my iPad to use Apple Fitness and then realized, "why am I keeping this if the main selling point (the touchscreen and instructor-guided videos) are so annoyingly bad, I'd have more fun running to a Nickelback music video?" So I returned it. A+ to Amazon on being quick to schedule the return, making it easy, and not charging a restocking fee. D- to Echelon for releasing a minimum viable product that does not have a large enough of community to make the app worth, or enough developers to integrate the touchscreen with the treadmill. If only they released the Stride with the same motor and running deck length... ... show more

    • Cheap product horrible customer service even with extended warranty

I purchased an extended warranty after my treadmill stopped working after less than a year. They expect you to do all the repairs yourself and provide minimal support. There are also known issues with the step counter not working check for yourself on Echelons website. I requested a technician and have a record emails that I have sent echelon with no response.     • Wonderful Treadmill!

This treadmill is great. I love it. It is not too noisy, much quieter than the treadmill at the gym. The machine is also wide which accommodates unstable walking or running; you will not easily step on the edges of the foot-bed. I have a big problem with the Echelon's screen. The screen is only for the Echelon website to watch their exercise classes, and you need to pay a subscription to use this feature. You cannot use the screen to get online to go the Youtube website, or any other website with this online screen. You cannot upload your own videos or music. However, if you did not pay for the subscription, and connect your WIFI to this machine you will have an annoying problem. The online screen will have a continuous search for the Echelon login, looking for its app. Because of this search, you will no longer be able to see the TIME on the machine. I find this most egregious because I need to see how long I have been exercising, so I can stop. If you do not have a subscription to Echelon, Do Not Connect To The WIFI. This machine has a strong motor, and you can run, or jog on it. However, I only do light jogging because I do not want to stress the motor; I want it to serve me a long time. It also accommodates tall people. I love this treadmill very much. It is kind of heavy to move even with the wheels. I suspect that many women would have some trouble moving it. The treadmill foot-bed is about 74 inches, you can check the specifications for accuracy. I give it 4 stars because there is no ridge to place your Tablet, and because you cannot hookup your music or video to their online screen. However, because everything else is great, I can easily overlook this. If I had to buy this again, I would do so in a heart-beat. ... show more
