  • Great bike and awesome customer service.
Color: Black Style: EX5-S
I bought this bike from the Amazon warehouse with $500 off because the box was damaged. I have purchased items from there before with no issues. The bike came and the box had minimal damage. After putting everything together, which was very easy, I notice the video screen had a white mark under the glass. Not huge, but big enough that I would notice it when using it. The box the screen came in was not damaged and the glass was not scratched. It was clearly a manufacturer defect. I contacted customer service via the online chat on their website and uploaded pictures of the defect and my receipt. They shipped a new screen to me that day, Friday, and I the new one was delivered Monday. The one they sent me looks like newer model with few small updates. Overall, I love bike so far. The seat was a little hard for me, so I upgraded to one with more cushion. The bike is very sturdy and there a lot of options for classes on demand and live. I have really enjoyed the ones I have attended so far. ... show more

  • Great value, motivating classes, but yeah- it rocks and not in a good way
Color: Black Style: EX5-S
I’m a mere under 110 lb person and when I hit a cadence over 90,, the bike does rock. Does it impact my workout? Not greatly. But if I were looking to use the bike for speed more than power, I might have to consider this a bigger detriment. I find the bike overall well built. Assembly was a might challenging for my partner who did it alone (he’s very handy and took this on without asking for help. Gee. Can you imagine a man doing that??) consider having an extra hand as the main frame is a beast! Classes are not varied enough for me at my post beginner level but definitely motivating. Expensive at the $40/month rate comparable to a local gym membership price where you’d encounter super sturdy bikes, varied equipment, socializing, sweat-soiled equipment and possibly COVID? I’ll take cleanliness and safety for $200, Jim! ... show more

  • Professional quality spin bike!!
Color: Black Style: EX5-S
I work from home so I decided to invest in a professional grade exercise bike. The Echelon is a fantastic piece of equipment. Very sturdy, silent to use, great computer screen. The classes and associated subscription is an added cost but is well worth the price of admission. The only downside is that when it arrives it is HEAVY, it took two delivery men to bring it up the stairs. The assembly is not terribly difficult, but does require attention to detail. Overall, this is a GREAT exercise bike. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Don't pick this over the Peloton!
Color: Black Style: EX5-S
I read all the poor reviews in the echelon app store about the connection being bad and resetting the resistance mid ride which sounds so dangerous. I thought I was being "smart" by buying the model with the attached monitor. How can it disconnect if it is wired to the bike? Well the screen is wired to power but still connects to the bike via bluetooth still. Why?? Thankfully I only had minor connectivity issues but never mid ride. Ultimately I was dissatisfied with the app experience and chose to return the bike. Re-packing was a massive pain and I lost $250 on the return. Lesson learned, I am switching to Peloton which has full service setup and returns. The hardware is solid for basic riders like me: Overall I found the setup really simple. By myself, it probably took 1.5Hr to setup and then another 15 minutes of cleanup. I am no bike expert but I found the bike to ride smoothly and performed better than the in studio bikes I have used. The screen is high quality and the touch is very responsive. Aesthetically, I'm not a fan of the large plastic piece on the side of the bike. It makes the bike look like a clunky plastic toy instead of high end exercise equipment. The downside of the hardware is that it needs to be routed through the app. Turning the resistance knob on the bike will increase your resistance an arbitrary amount. Sometimes one full turn will get me to 1 resistant point higher, sometimes it will put me 3 points higher. The incrementation is not linear which is problematic as the instructors will usually tell you to turn the knob one full turn etc.. which will mean a different thing each time. The app needs work: There is no doubt about it. Even fully connected to my bike, streaming the class over WiFi, I CONSTANTLY drop off the leaderboard. I did not find the leaderboard competitive because people above me also kept dropping off. The UI is ugly and needs a lot more work. Filtering classes is not an intuitive experience. You will see all filters available even if they are not applicable to the class section you are viewing (e.g. yoga for cycling classes). Viewing the progress is a joke, I don't understand what they are trying to even show me. As an analytics driven person I would like to see all up or trending stats but this app only shows you stats compared to the previous class (of the same class!). I recommend you to download both the Echelon and Peloton app and compare. The experience on Peloton is much better! Peloton has thoughtful features like countdowns and listing what song is playing during the class. The classes are not fun: I've tried many of the instructors in echelon and only found one that I liked (Dani). Many other instructors do not beat match the RPMs to the music. I didn't realize this but - YOU NEED TO DETERMINE YOUR RESISTANCE YOURSELF. The instructors will only give guidance of easy, moderate, or hard resistance zone which you will need to calibrate yourself. For a lazy potato like me, this caters to my slacker tendencies and does not push me to my full potential. The photos for the instructors of the classes were not motivating and class angle, lighting, and cinematics were not flattering to the instructors. This may sound vain, but let's be real, the entire industry is built on vanity. And lastly, I missed the social aspect of cycling. I enjoy the cult following of peloton. I enjoy being part of a community of people. Echelon did not have a similar community or any forums that I could find. Overall, with the price drop of Peloton bike and the similar price for subscription, there is no reason to ever pick this bike over the Peloton. ... show more

  • Love, love my echelon!
Color: Black Style: EX5-S
I love this bike and ride it almost every day. You do have to put it together but the instructions are clear. A few of the components were missing but I could substitute with what was there. I put it together one day and was riding it the next day. My only issue is that there are a very limited number of guided scenic rides on the app which is really what I like to do. I really hope they expand the number of guided rides soon! ... show more
