Over several years i have tried a number of aftermarket filters. I have little doubt that the Dyson filters are made in the same factory(s) as the aftermarket, but seem to have much better quality control. They clean easier, last longer, and have stronger vacuum than any of the others I have tried. Some of the aftermarkets pare a poor fit and throw error messages as soon as they are installed! It’s a Dyson vacuum filter. Not exactly a thrilling purchase, but wow — what a difference. My vacuum went from "please, no more" to "I was born for this." Turns out, running it with a clogged filter wasn’t doing me any favors. Who knew? Now I’ve always got a clean spare on standby. The second my Dyson starts acting sluggish, I swap it out, wash the dirty one, and let it dry. No downtime, no fuss, and my vacuum doesn’t sound like it’s pleading for an early retirement. This filter works fine. The only problem is that it costs 4x more than the generic multi-packs. I won't buy it again. I did a side by side comparison and used each one until it needed cleaning. Save money and get 4 generic filters for the price of 1 Dyson-branded filter.

I waited and kept washing my original Dyson filter. When I finally caved and bought a new one, I wasn't disappointed. The suction on my machine was 10x what it was previously and it made such a difference. Don't wait - buy it!
