  • Overall Great Product
The media could not be loaded. Great muffle and very easy to install. I found it easiest to shove a flat head screwdriver through the rubber hangers to help ease pulling the metal muffler hangers out, otherwise you will be yanking forever. I ended up applying 3 cans of rustoleum high heat satin black to the entire muffler to prevent pre mature rust and I didn’t like the chrome look to it. The sound is amazing and isn’t too bad on the highway doing 70-75 but is noticeable. Volume 12-15 usually covers it up. Overall very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Read this.....
Installed this two days ago. When arrived both hangers had poked thru box. It is not packaged well at all.....muffler moves freely in the box. Was undamaged however. Tips are well packed inside their own boxes. Says its made in USA, but chrome tips are China. Was a pain getting old muffler off -- 2008 and was rusted on. Once off, install was easy. However, I have the OEM exhaust pipe and once installed, this muffler does NOT sit center of Jeep.....is shifted about two inches to passenger side and there is absolutely NO way to adjust that. Tips do angle down slightly and sit about 2 inches below the bumper. Muffler does install level on left to right. Tips can be adjusted to be sit slightly inside the bumper or to stick out about 1.5 to 2 inches. First 20 miles or so, muffler had a horrific smell and loud drone inside the Jeep. However, it has quieted down now and does sound nice. Smell has gone away. Because some reviews said rust was an issue, I used Rustoleum High Temp primer and paint and painted muffler with about 4 coats of each. Time will tell on that issue. For the money, really can't beat it. Mufflers costing 3 to 4 times more have similar reviews. Only negative is that I wish it could be centered....but maybe that just my OCD. Would buy again. ... show more

  • Rustoleum test muffler?
In the 4 years I've had this set-up it has rusted from end to end and is about to need to be replaced. It is a Piece of Junk. My JKU has only 36,000 miles on it. It's a 2014... So when I bought it, I rattle canned 4 coats of ceramic high temp paint (like the type for a gas grill) and between coats, I baked it in the oven until the pervious coating was cured. So even if this thing was junky, it should have lasted for at least a decade. Well the outside looked fine, but it actually rusted from the inside out. I could not believe this thing went to complete rust in such a short period of time. Performance= no difference. Sound= very little difference. (It did sound meaty from a bystanders perspective) That's it. I frankly wish I had kept my stock exhaust. Or paid the money for any brand that isn't DYNO-RUST. ... show more

  • Sounds great! *Install hints and tricks*
Got rid of the tin-y sound from the exhaust. Rich deep grunt now. I painted the muffler with high heat paint. Some burn off smell (oil inside from manufacture(?)). A little bit of wrestle to install due to the Jeep exhaust having a 'tab'. This exhaust does have a corresponding cut out for the tab which was the difficult part to line up. I ended up bending the exhaust side a little then used the clamp to draw it back down (bend it back). Also, the exhaust tipswere a little skewed (one lower). I fished that by bending the hanger on that side which raised the while muffler... and resulted in the tips being lined up. Install was about 1 hour. I've never done exhaust before but am very handy... so I'd say a 5 out of 10 on difficulty scale. But 10 out of 10 on 'worth it' scale! ... show more

  • Looks and sounds great, but it didn’t last long!
Just got it today, couldn’t wait to install it. It was a pretty easy install... actually a VERY easy install. Getting the old muffler off was the hardest part. I painted the new system black before the install and it looks great. The clamp for the muffler itself worked fine. The clamps for the tips were too big and wouldn’t tighten down enough to hold the tips in place. I’ll go get different clamps tomorrow and install the tips. Everything looks great and both tail pipes are even and level with one another. The sound is great. A nice throaty idle and a little rumble on acceleration. At even speeds it’s a little louder than stock but not annoyingly loud. The next day I bought new clamps and installed the tips. The tips made sound even better and did quiet it down just a bit more. Very happy with my purchase. I’ve had this on my JK for about 17 months and I’m very disappointed. I have a big rust hole in the muffler and it’s getting louder. I’m currently searching for a new system to replace this cheap one. ... show more

  • Easy Install,Sounds Great,better MPG,Looks Way Better Than Stock
For under $200 this is by far the best cat back muffler kit you can buy. Installing it took about 10 minutes, removing the stock muffler and pipe took about half an hour. I used my cutting wheel to cut lines going with the direction of the pipe to make it slip off easier. Mine was pretty rust sealed on there. I sprayed silicone grease on it the night before and it helped loosen the nut on the clamp. This kits comes with 3 clamps total. 2 for the tips, which look amazing, and 1 for the pipe connecting the muffler to the existing pipe. It’s not loud at all. Don’t know why some reviewers posted that. It sounds aggressive but not Loud at all. I took acetone to it and then sprayed it with rustoleum hi heat bbq paint. I’m very happy with this purchase. I was getting around 16-17mpg with running 35 inch tires n a lift. After I put this on I’ve been averaging 18.5mpg. I love it ... show more

  • Just buy it, its cheaper than the rest, sounds great, and looks awesome!
Waited to buy this for an entire year, didn't want the drone noise and was terrified of the ricer sound. I really should have just pulled the trigger right away. Easy install, fit perfectly. Love the sounds! FYI: Painted this with high heat black as a primer and then cast-spray for a dark gray finish. Looks way better and no rust paint will last a little while. Stock muffler was spot welded on so had to break that to get the old one off. Make sure to use the tips otherwise the drone is present with the sound ending right before the bumper. ... show more
