I used this as part of a complete exhaust system upgrade on my 97 Cherokee XJ and it worked perfect. I welded it to a Magnaflow direct fit cat which then goes into a Flowmaster 44. The system is rounded out with the walker tail pipe which fit but some of the pipe bend angles differed a few degrees from factory. With the whole system welded it has a great, deep tone unique to the 4.0L.

As others have mentioned, the flange on mine was bent as well - it was not evenly flared. I was able to get it to seal anyway, but this was not ideal. Secondly, there is a hanger welded onto the pipe where it goes over the frame crossmember. It is not recommended to weld a hanger directly to a pipe, as you are creating a weak spot around the welds. This hanger - and the surrounding pipe - simply ripped off after about 3 months. I now have a 1 1/2" hole in my pipe where the hanger was. The rest of the pipe was correctly supported, and the vehicle was not off-roaded during this period. I would consider this to be poor manufacturing. Lastly, the pipe is pretty restrictive. I did not expect it to be awesome, but the narrowing of the pipe around the bends is more than expected. On the bright side, I'm sure it's less so now that it has a massive hole in it. YMMV. I suggest buying a better designed and more durable pipe, or simply having a decent shop weld you up a piece. Would not advise purchasing this one, cheap as it is.

Thinner than OEM, slightly smaller diameter than OEM (had to use a butt band clamp instead of the fit in pipe flare it comes with). However, it bolted right in on my 99 XJ and doesn't have the weird dent right after the manifold that the OEM pipes have, welds looked good. One note for anyone w/ a long arm, it sticks over to the pass side a bit farther than the OEM pipe and may lead to contact when flexed out.

I had gotten some cheap $100 headers for my 2001 Grand Cherokee here on Amazon to eliminate the dual catalytic converters that are built into the factory exhaust manifold but I did so before thinking about the use of my factory down pipe… The new headers were single exit instead of dual exit that came stock so both parts were going to have to be junked. But I took a shot on this bad boy and it worked out perfectly! Fit just right, great alignment throughout, all the bends were in the right spots, super easy to install, and all of it together sounds awesome!!! The only issue was that the exhaust hanger was offset by 4-6 inches but it was a cheap and easy fix down at the local exhaust shop.

Fit perfect.. It was easy to replace the cracked old pipe and to install this new one.. I didnt even need to jack up the Jeep.. I also painted with high heat paint to help protect the metal before installing.. Will see how that does long term.

Replaced the entire exhaust on my 99 Cherokee and was looking for a stock size pipe that was ready to drop in. This worked perfect and has all the correct bends and hanger location. The o2 sensor bung was in the correct position. Clean welds and not too thin so it can take some abuse. No leaks.
