So I don’t know how I was expecting this to be shipped, but I came home from work one day to find this laying on my front steps with a FedEx sticker slapped on it. Was it shipped damaged or was it damaged during shipping? Who knows. It does look like Smokin’ Joe Frazier used it as a heavy bag though. Probably the nature of the beast and why you might want to consider picking up locally. Nonetheless it looked structurally sound. Installation was not too bad. I would warn however that this is probably meant to be installed in conjunction with the Walker resonator because the egress on this was 2.5in as was the existing resonator pipe. Picked up an adapter at the local auto parts store for a few bucks. So far so good. The original muffler had split at the weld seam, so this is much quieter. Purchased this with the resonator 53749 and two clamps 35336, 35337. Unbelievably, Chrysler smartly clamped the cat to the muffler so that a replacement can be installed without welding, cutting, etc. OR you think so... 1) While cold, spray penetrating oil on cat-to-muffler clamp nut (if possible, soak a few days ahead and don't catch yourself on fire ding-dong) 2) Undo clamp nut at cat-to-muffler joint 3) Cut resonator off behind rear axle and remove both resonator and muffler (spray penetrating oil on rubber hangers to make that easier) 4) Most likely you'll need to cut the muffler off NEAR (not at) the cat joint because the parts will be rusted together - more power to ya if you can separate the muffler 5) Align and bolt it all back together using the OEM hangers and purchased clamps The clamps I bought will work for most applications but my advice is to buy 2 1/2 inch band clamps to properly seal the joint from the cat to the muffler.     • Decent replacement, damaged ends, and it does not have mandrel bends like the picture shows.
Bought this as a replacement on a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country. It seems to be a decent OEM replacement but I am disappointed with two aspects. The first is that it didn't come in a box and didn't have plastic caps on the ends so both ends were bent out-of-round and had to be reshaped back to round before it was usable...took a hammer, a vice, and about 10 minutes worth of work but I got it fixed. The damage could have been avoided if it came with protective plastic caps affixed to the ends or if it came packed in a box. The second thing was that the picture shows it having mandrel bends. Mine did not...mine had wrinkle bends. I doubt my wife will notice a difference in power but wrinkle bends are the most restrictive out of the three most common methods (wrinkle, crush, and mandrel). I guess the price of this, however, it's OK. My gripe is that the picture shows mandrel bends and that is not what you get. Lastly, I recommend two lap joint exhaust clamps for this (can be gotten here on Amazon for about $12 each). If you get this muffler assembly and the matching resonator assembly, you will need a 2.5" lap joint band clamp to go from the muffler assembly to the existing exhaust pipe from the front. And you will need a 2.25" lap joint band clamp to attach the resonator assembly to the muffler assembly. As a last bit of advice, when removing the old exhaust, you will need to cut it in two pieces to get it out. Also, it's easier to unbolt the exhaust hangers from the vehicle and drop the exhaust to get the old muffler/resonator out than to try to remove the muffler from the hangers in-place. ... show more

Great Product-- Installed on 2009 Town and Country Limited 4.0. Very Quiet. Used (1) 2.5" Lap Joint Band for one end and (1) 2.25" lap Joint band for the other end that I also bought on Amazon. DId NOT use any muffler paste with these bands. The Lap Joint bands are the way to go. Easy to use and sealed the Joints excellent. ... show more

Amazon said this didn't fit my van. It does. 2008 Chrysler town and country touring. It does not include the resonator part. Works great so far. A lot quieter than the leaking one lol
