  • Very nice so far
Size: 135,000 BTUs
Purchase this because old one died short of end of winter. Love the high and low setting. Quality wheels no wobbling. Seems to be very good on fuel. Nice gas gauge. Good plug. Hope that this will last a good while. To be determined. All in all so far I love it 3 months old.

  • has a built in thermostat
Size: 80,000 BTUs
works well, too bad kerosene prices are higher than gas and diesel.

  • No hesitation to recommend with a few minor considerations
Size: 180,000 BTUs
I use this in my 40x50x14 shop. My shop is not insulated and does not have an interior ceiling, it is open through the trusses to the bubble wrap underneath the roof metal. I say that because I’m not sure this unit would warm the entire space if it were below freezing outside. That said, it is a lot of cubic space and i don’t think it is the proper size to heat the whole shop space. I haven’t done the math and we haven’t had enough cold weather to really put it to the test. However, i love this heater. When full of fuel it is heavy but is very mobile because of the wheels. The wheels are a must. It will crank the heat and is very effective to keep me warm while I’m in the shop working on a piece of equipment or project. It starts easily with the flip of a rocker switch. I have burned #2 farm diesel (with red dye) in it and it has worked just fine. I have had a person say the dye will eventually affect some sensor but i haven’t had any problem to date. The unit does give off a minor odor, but very minimal, i often don’t even notice it but do mention it because some are sensitive to it. I consider it a minor con outweighed my much greater pros. The only other thing i think people may notice and want to consider is the noise level. Keep in mind that when this thing is up and running you’ve lit a small fuel jet backed by a hefty fan. It does make some noise, but nothing so loud that it would prevent you from having a conversation. We work in close proximity to it and speak normally maybe a little louder than normal but generally with no issue but it does create a good bit of background noise. Again, a small inconvenience for keeping warm. I would buy it again without hesitation and would recommend to anyone after they’ve considered what I’ve discussed here. ... show more

  • Too smelly
Size: 80,000 BTUs
I guess is didn't expect it to smell so much. This is more for painters or drywall installers to warm up a house. Didn't help for what I was using for and it was pretty smelly.

  • Still works perfectly after 2 years of use.
I ordered the Dyna-Glo 75,000 BTU Forced Air Kerosene Heater (KFA75DGD) directly from Amazon (Best price on the net). It arrived in only (4) days via UPS and came double-boxed with zero damage. Not that it matters, but the heater is dark gray and not white as pictured in the ad. It was very simple to operate (Attach the handle w/ the screws provided, add 1-K kerosene to the tank, connect an extension cord to the heaters pigtail and press the "On" switch). The heater produced very little smoke on startup. Before ordering, please be aware that this heater requires preventive maintenance for it to operate at its peak from season to season and you should know how to use simple hand tools. Visit the manufacturers' website for detailed information. (Please Note: This kerosene heater has been discontinued by the manufacturer and was replaced by model #: KFA80DGD) As suggested in the (KFA75DGD) Operators Manual: * Fuel Tank: Flush the fuel tank every 200 hours or as needed. Drain at the end of every season. * Air Intake Filter: Remove, then wash and dry with soap and water every 500 hours or as needed. * Air Output Filter, Lint Filter: Replace every 500 hours or once a year. * Fan Blades: Remove blades and clean every season or as needed. * Nozzle: Remove nozzle and clean as needed. * Spark Plug: Remove, clean and re-gap every 600 hours or replace as needed. * Photocell: Remove and clean annually or as needed. * Fuel Filter: Remove and clean or replace twice a heating season or as needed. * Pump Pressure Adjustment: Only if needed (This operation requires an accessory Pressure Gauge). The Operators Manual is well written and includes detailed drawings to ease maintenance. Update: I have used the heater several times this winter season (12/13) and it works flawlessly. Make sure to keep a door or window open as suggested. If you do become a little light-headed it's because of lack of oxygen and high levels of Carbon Monoxide / CO (Immediately turn the heater off and move to fresh air. Before using again, make sure that there is enough outside ventilation). ... show more

  • leaks fuel
Size: 80,000 BTUs
Do not fill completely as the lid is basically a splash guard only and will leak out all over the place during transit.

  • Excellent quality - Purchased another one too
Size: 135,000 BTUs
Excellent quality. Very satisfied with this heater. Been using it for a couple months now. I live in Texas so my winter is rather mild, but on those days it does dip into the 40's, 30's and even a few days in the 20's, this heater has been great. I used to have a propane heater and this one is by far 10 times better. thermostat works great. I get great gas mileage. I use diesel and the specs say it uses about 1 gallon per hour of use, but mine is somewhat better than that. The first week I used it for just under 9 hours of use (not counting the off time between thermostat cycles) and it only used 1/2 tank (5 gal) of diesel. I am told it wold get better mileage with kerosene, but I have not tried kerosene since that is harder to find down here. My shop is about 50'x30' and this heats it up pretty nice. when the temp outside is about 45, it takes about 15-20 minutes to heat the shop up to about 65. Update: Here we are 3 years later and the heater is still working like new-Perfect. I like this heater so much, I purchased another one. The 135K btu works great in my larger shop, but I needed one for my smaller shop (less than half the size of the larger). So I purchased the 50,000 but unit. Just as I was with the larger unit, I am not disappointed with the 50K. Works perfect and heats up the shop in about 30 minutes to the point that I can turn it off for a couple hours. This shop is about 12'x30'. If anything should change in the future I will return here to update this review. ... show more
