  • Works great, really warm, lowered my gas bills
Style: Manual
This heater is VERY WARM! I use it as the primary heater for my home, supreme Ted by space heaters in a couple of rooms. I have rarely turned it above the lowest settings. For a good part of the past winter, the pilot light was sufficient to keep the house comfortable. Even with temps in the teens, this heater keeps my house toasty warm. The thermostat is a wonderful feature. I live in Alabama, so fairly mild winters, but we still get a run or two of temps in the teens. This heater is great and is economical - my previous heater gave me bills over $400 a month. To the best of my memory, my bills stayed under $200 for most of the winter. ... show more

  • Awesome gas heater!
Style: Thermostatic
I was looking for a gas heater for my shop. I researched and this heater was in my budget with good reviews. I also purchased the small blower that you add to the back of the unit. I had a prof run a gas line from my meter to my shop. I mounted this unit and installed it to code. My shop is 24x18. It heats up fast. Keeps moisture down in the shop. I wished it had actual degrees on the thermostat. Instead it just had 1 through 5 with 5 being the highest setting. No big deal. You can set a thermostat in the room and when the unit cuts off, you can then judge what number 1 through 5 equals what degree. It's really nice that it will reach temperature and shut itself off and start back when the temperature drops below the setting. I am very pleased so far with this unit and the cost was very affordable. Build quality is nice. The size of the unit is good as it's wall mounted. The only smell is that of all natural gas heaters on first start up. No issue there. The noise level is minimal. I do suggest for safety reasons to put a carbon monoxide detector in the room with it just for safety. ... show more

  • Good for a small manufactured home
Style: Thermostatic
Heats up my entire 1400 square foot manufactured home, without the optional fan. Good for a small, insulated manufactured home and doesn't require electricity. I probably could have got a smaller version since I can leave it on a lower setting and it keeps the whole place comfortable with the built in thermostat which turns it on and off automatically. I needed a 3/8" NPT to 1/2" Flare adapter to hook up to my existing metal flex line that was going to my older furnace. The included bracket was easy to mount to a wall with wood paneling which needed a 5/16 drill bit to make 2 holes for the wing clips, 4 are included but 2 was enough to support it. I've only had it for a few days as of writing this review, will update later if I have any issues. ... show more

  • Works Great!
Style: Thermostatic
The only thing I would mention is that the unit gets quite hot in the back and I worry about the heat on the wall causing a fire. We put it in our garage and it keeps it very warm - too warm if I don't turn it way down.

  • Solid heater at a good price
Style: Thermostatic
We wanted some sort of heater for our somewhat rough finished basement and this was our choice. The unit is pretty solid and for what it is, is about a visually pleasing as it is going to get. The instructions were pretty clear and I had no issue mounting this unit and running some of the piping myself. It does not come with the gas line install kit, so you will need one. The kit will come with a shutoff valve, 18'' or so of metal flex line, and some gas rated pipe tape. If you install it yourself, remember to install a sediment trap, generally a stub below the iron pipe at the lowest point to catch sediment. (google it). But the heater works very good and brought out 750 sqft basement from 61F to 68 in about an hour and a half. Keep an eye on your humidity levels with vent-less units. I opted for the additional powered fan kit, though it is a little noisy it does seem to help and you can feel the blower from about 18'' out from the heater. The photo attached shows the gap between the fan and the wall. I made a 2'' or so space to flex the heater away from the wall a bit to let more air get to the intake of the fan, this helped a little. Being rated at 1,000sqft it works well in 750-800 sqft. For the price you really cannot go wrong with this quality heater. ... show more

  • What are the temperature ranges associated with 1-5 levels available?
Style: Thermostatic
UPDATE: See latest photo. You can set the temp just above PILOT. This will generally keep your space above freezing. WARNING: IN a cold snap THIS ULTRA LOW SETTING MIGHT LET YOUR SPACE DROP BELOW FREEZING... UPDATE: At level .5 (below 1 out of 5) this baby kept my garage at 42 during freezing temps. You did not read wrong. You can actually dial this below 1. I am going to see what happens even lower. But this is what I wanted. Thinking about five stars now...INITIAL:Pictured is older 10k btu vs 30k dyna glo. Replaced older (not thermostatically controlled). So it set up very easy and worked great out of box. Now to figure out what each temperature level 1-5 represents. My Ideal would be 1 keeps a room from freezing, like 40 degrees or below, the heater kicks in. Not concerned about the other settings because this thing will get my 520 Sq. Ft. garage baking in no time. I bought this thing to keep the garage above freezing for things in garage that don't like freezing. Like batteries, liquids, etc... Will come back with a 5 rating if this thing is smart. A little annoyed I have figure this out. Why isn't this documented in the owners manual so I don't have to take the chance this thing is not going to do what I want. IDK. ... show more
