  • High Quality, Fair Price, No Regrets
Size: 4.2 Qt
So, I read the reviews on all of the Stock Pots and every one but this one seemed to have some drawback. I was willing to pay a little more for a high quality product and took a chance on this even though it had few reviews at the time I purchased. FYI - We use it on a regular electric range so I can't talk about how it works on an induction range, but I can say that we are very pleased with the solid construction, the styling, and the ease of cleaning. The first dish we prepared was a hearty lentil soup and the stock pot performed wonderfully. I will say that after cooking and reheating several times and then cleaning the pot, I noticed that the bottom of the inside had become a bit cloudy and required a bit of cleanser and elbow grease to restore it to it's original luster, however, I have seen this occur on other pots and pans as well when various types of beans were left cooking for long periods, therefore I do not consider it to be a defect of the product. We're very happy to have made this choice and will look for this brand next time we shop for cookware. Hope this review helps others that are as picky as I am! ... show more

  • Love this stockpot
Size: 8.6 Qt
I just received the 8 qt stockpot which I ordered from Amazon It was delivered promptly and was well packed. When I opened it I was happily surprised as it was heavier than I expected. I was replacing some old 1950 or 1960 stock pots and they were very much lighter. Anyway, I love the weight and the fact that they are solidly made. I really like the handles and the bottom of the pot is smooth and won't scratch up my glass cooktop. This pot is large enough to cook a big pot of soup, a boiled New England dinner or anything else you might want to throw into it. It heats evenly and because the bottom is flat and even the heat will be evenly distributed so there won't be "hot spots" like I dealt with on my old pots due to the curved bottoms or uneven bottoms. All in all I love this pot. This rates 5 stars! I would give it more if I could! Thank you! ... show more

  • Best Induction Pot for Larger Quantities, Pasta and Stock
Size: 8.6 Qt
Unlike reviews posted here that apply to other Duxtop pots and pans, I am using the 8.6 quart/7.0 liter item as shown on this product page. My rating says 'I Like It'...for lots of home use. My Professional grade pots and pans are a good bit beyond this in solid construction...but won't heat on my new induction cooktop. When it comes to induction, Duxtop is as good as it gets! I own a fine 10-piece set (purchased on Amazon from Secura) and what I have is 'just right.' That set represents a new metal for Duxtop, one that is a magnetic stainless steel. This largest available pot comes from the induction-ready era, with a hefty magnetic insert to conduct energy and to evenly disperse heat from whatever source. With my premium home induction cooktop it took this pan 20 minutes to bring 7 liters of water to a rolling boil using an energy setting of 9 (powerful but sustainable without damaging the cooktop element for that period of time). I turned down the power and the pan quickly moved to a lightly bubbling simmer. The kit kept temperature at a gentle simmer for 20 minutes (the length of my test). I am sure it will maintain an evenly dispersed temperature for much longer, since I could not detect any hot spots using my starchy test fluid. I found this pot to be generally well-constructed (for home use.) The glass lid is encircled with a stainless band, providing structure and also allowing a view into the pot that solid metal tops do not allow. There is a small 'dimple' opening in the lid to allow steam to escape but I found steam preferred to bubble and spit around the rim of the top at full boil, 'fogging' my cooktop. (Well, the top needs regular cleaning anyway...but this would not be so wonderful on open burner gas or electric cooktops.) The dimple opening worked fine for simmering temperatures. ... show more

  • Great stainless steel pot!
Size: 8.6 Qt
Love this pot! It’s become my “go to” pot for soups, tadka dahl, etc. It sautés all of the initial base items of any saucey dish so well, i.e., onion, garlic, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, etc. The lid has the small hole to allow steam to exit, this is ideal to avoid any liquid boiling over. It’s great! Very well made. Heats evenly and consistently. Easy to clean. I use it several times a week. ... show more

  • Impressive
Size: 4.2 Qt
I had been searching for a quality induction capable pan that would fill in between the sizes I already own and not break the budget as I have a number of cast iron and stainless pans already... Apparently I have a habit! I had been looking at all the local stores and the Big Blue building. My criteria was it needed to be tall enough to cook smaller quantities of pasta for two and yet fit in the small storage area of my camping trailer. I planned on using it outside on the portable induction burner. When I received this pan I was more than pleased with the quality and weight. I am sure it will not remain in the camper at all and will be used often in my kitchen. The inside dimensions are approximately 7-1/2 inches across by 4-1/2 deep. There is about a quarter inch flat rim and there are dog ear type handles that you might want to factor in if your storage is tight. The glass lid fits very securely and has a vent hole. With the lid on it will sputter water if you boil it too hard, but I noticed it doesn't sputter as much as some of my other pans due to the nice fitting lid. This pan is beautifully finished and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. ... show more
