I purchased this light because it has the outlets on the side. Installation is the same as installing a regular light fixture, just this one is a little heavier, but still manageable doing it by yourself. To use the outlet, you will have to turn on the power/light on the fixture. The one thing is that the fixture doesn't seen that stable when trying to plug in a cable into the outlet. The little plate and screws that come with it hold it well to the wall, but when you start pushing on the side to plug in, it moves. The light is really awesome and the little side GFI outlet is very convenient. The kid comes with a screw which isn’t long enough for a raise mount light fixture so I had to go into town and pick up another screw that longer to accommodate the length

This looks amazing. The only thing there was a problem with was that the attaching screws were too long. I had a Dremel and was able to cut them about a 1/8 inch and now it is attached perfectly.

Love this light, the outlets are really handy, but the overall construction is lacking. The metal is thin and tends to bend and flex when using the outlets. This might be ok if you were never going to touch it once you installed it, but when plugging and unplugging cords to the outlet it's annoying. This is exacerbated by the fact that the base is a little deeper to accommodate the outlet and tends to flex. ... show more

I bought this specifically for the power outlet since I didn't have one on my back porch and I needed to replace the very old worn out light from the 60s. Motion sensor works good. It's a little flimsy quality but not bad. What I don't like is the outlet is a little recessed into the side of the light fixture so certain plugs will not fit and it has a really strong spring on the slide up door to cover the outlet which not only knocks plugs out but it also will break plugs depending on what you put in there. Since my porch is covered I just took the door off of the outlet. I could only give it 3 stars ... show more

I disabled the dusk to dawn feature because I am using it with smart bulbs. I thought the wavy glass would obscure the ugly light bulbs, but it does not. The install was easy, but I wish all fixtures came with a metal hanger/hook to hold the weight while you connect the wires. Do be careful when plugging in to an outlet. The light is no more "fixed" to the wall than any other, meaning it's easy to move it, so use two hands. ... show more

We had no power out on the front of our house and were always having to run extension cords out the front door when we needed power out there. These fixtures were so easy to install and give us the benefit of not only a great looking fixture but also 2 GFCI outlets per fixture.
