I purchased this unit after replacing hot water heater. Original unit was undersized. If you are replacing existing system typical homeowner with handyman skills can replace within one day. Comes with installation video which I think is better than the technical manual Most importantly you will not feel the full effects off soft water until 4 to 6 weeks after installation.
