  • Rail Does Not Fit Properly In To Base
We needed these so badly that I kept them but are still working on the rail not fitting properly inn to the hole. The hole is too big for the rail post. We have tried so far cardboard, coins, tape and plastic flourescent tape. The problem is with just about any of these is that the patient is bedridden and we have to remove the railings at least one a day to get to him to properly clean him up. This really needs to be addressed by the manufacturer because it leaves the railing very wobbly. I would return them but like I said, we were in desperate need of them. For now we are sticking with the cardboard inserted around the base until we can figure out something else. ... show more

  • Fills a need, but not pleased overall
While this product serves our need (to protect a dementia patient from getting out of the bed without assistance), I am not fully pleased without the product. 1. The directions included are very difficult to follow and there is no parts list included. It includes 2 slightly different types of bolts, and mentions a short bolt and long bolt, but both bolts are the same length. 2. It is not a "universal" fit, as the bolts were too wide for the holes on our hospital bed and had to be drilled out before being able to install them. 3. The Amazon listing does not refer to these as bariatric rails, however that is how they are referred to in the packaging. I do not believe they would be strong enough to support a bariatric patient. ... show more

  • Won't work with adjustable bed frame
I thought it would work on the adjustable bed we had just purchased; however, it must be screwed to the frame of the bed and our frame is covered and can't tell if there are any screw holes to attach this bedrail. I suspect on the right bed frame it would work great; however, I don't know the difference between home style bed, bariatric bed, etc. Instructions that came with the rail were difficult to understand. Too much trouble to try to return it so I will just hold on to it and see if anyone else in the family might be able to use it while I keep looking for something my mother can use on the adjustable bed. ... show more

  • Doesn't fit same brand bed.
My mom has a Drive brand hospital bed. These rails are Drive brand and are about 1/8 of an inch too short. By the time I find someone that can alter them Mom probably won't need them. Evidently Drive doesn't accept returns; this is SHAMEFUL business practice. I will not recommend this company to anyone. Might even report them to the BBB. ... show more
