  • Lacks durability where it matters
Size: 16 Inch Style: Elevating Leg Rests
I'll start off with the bad and end with the good. The wheels on this are terrible, the spokes are made out of plastic. I got this for knee surgery and thinking it would help getting around the house with a few transitions between the different floorings I have. I found the crutches more reliable. The first day that I really used it I had left it in a friend's car who was picking be up from the hospital that afternoon. Not sure if it was having it stored cockeyed in the backseat foot area of his car, or heat from the Sun, but one of the wheels had become warped inexplicably. One of the wheels resultantly rubbed and binded on the armrest when we had got home. With some cussing and grunting I managed to bend it straight again. I'm not terribly large, 6' 1" and 185 and rolling around in this feels unnerving. A Walmart bicycle has better build quality. The tires are cheap rubber with a lot of rolling resistance that will not hold up to a year's use. Would I reccomend it? No, find a decently built one at a garage sale. Is it functional? Sure, but barely. The leg rest does not telescope very far, and the calf pad is stationary. So, I would not recommend this if you intend to have you leg in a fully extended and horizontal position as I had. It can be done by rotating the foot plate and putting a pillow under the lower half of the calf. As a chair its posture is good, comfortable and practical. The narrower one takes the worry of ramming your knuckles into door frames away. ... show more

  • very poor workmanship
Size: 16 Inch Style: Elevating Leg Rests
I bought this chair because previously I'd been renting chairs and the reviews were mostly great for this chair .The day we started using Drive wheelchair the right leg lift fell off, needless to say that HURT!!,I was desperate for a chair,as I was scheduled for surgery on my knee.My son thought he could fix the leg holder, but every time we thought it would be usable, the leg holder fell off unfortunately my leg was always in it. I can't tell you how disappointed I am with this product, there were so many glowing positive reviews, which I believed! I was in the hospital for an extended time after I purchased this chair, otherwise it would have been sent it back ASAP I've always felt safe purchasing through AMAZON,this was beyond terrible ... show more

  • It's good and bad
Size: 16 Inch Style: Elevating Leg Rests
We bought this for my mom after she broke her leg. We needed a wheelchair that would go through the bathroom doors. We had tried a transport wheelchair but it was so hard to push on our carpet. This one goes through the doors but mom complains the seat is too small and she feels it's for a child. I will look for another solution. Don't fall kids! ( It is very sturdy tho) You also have to buy the padded cushion separately ... show more

  • Nice Chair Great Price
Size: 16 Inch Style: Elevating Leg Rests
I have had my chair for a week now after major foot surgery, Have to be non weight bearing for two mos. This chair has been great for me to get around in and still keep my foot elevated. I cannot use a knee scooter as my knees are not that great. Easy to takeoff the leg rest as needed to get in and out of small places. Light weight. The only cons with this chair is it needs to come with a pair of gloves as you get blisters after awhile on your hands. The tires are a bit hard to be pushed up a snowy ramp and spin, but that isn't really the chair's fault. (need chains or snowy tires). I highly recommend this to anyone that needs a chair to get around in in the house. Great price too! (don't forget a pair of gloves) 4.5 Stars ... show more

  • Great narrow wheelchair
Size: 16 Inch Style: Elevating Leg Rests
Great narrow wheelchair. I am not a lightweight, but I fit into this chair and it is a lifesaver. I had accident , cannot walk, in a hip to ankle brace & cannot use crutches because pops my arms outta socket..thankfully this wheelchair is narrow enough to fit through one of my bathroom doors. It was worth every penny. Have used for last month & will need for another couple months. The previous comments about brakes being worthless, are pretty much right on, but it has been so positive for me, I must overlook that flaw. I would buy again, and again, and again !!! ... show more

  • Good narrow wheelchair for older homes with narrow doorways
Size: 16 Inch Style: Elevating Leg Rests
Pros: I have a home with narrow doorways and this is the best wheelchair for getting through. I really needed the elevated leg rests since I broke both my ankles. I did buy a cushion for the seat since I need to use this for 12 weeks or more. The wheelchair is well made with solid armrests and structure. Cons: After 5 weeks the right large wheel is squeaking. My husband is a mechanic and took the wheel off to lubricate it but within a day the squeaking is back. I am going to try and contact the seller to see what can be done. UPDATE: Drive Medical was very quick to help with the squeaky wheel. I would do business with them again. ... show more

  • Love My Blue Streak!!
Size: 16 Inch Style: Elevating Leg Rests
I am recovering from Tibial Plateau Fracture surgery. I love this chair!! It's helping me get out of the house a little, something I could not do as well with just the walker that they gave me upon release from the hospital. It's got a great footprint and I can get around the house pretty well too - it's a house from the 1970's, so the hallways are not as wide as a more modern house. I am 5'3" and around 190# and I fit in the narrow seat. Probably not if I were much heavier though. I love all of the features - the foot/leg supports, the arms that flip up for scooting under a table, the backpack on the back, the pretty blue color. My neighbor is kindly taking me and my dog out for a walk every morning with this wheelchair. I can get some exercise rolling myself along and let her take over when I get tired. At first I was concerned that the chair seems to flex when we go over bumps or curbs, but it seems to be holding up well and I now assume it was meant to flex to handle those types of situations. The only thing I would change is the foot/leg rest design. In order to swing away the leg rests, the lever is underneath my thigh in an inconvenient spot to get to. And if you have the brakes on, the leg rest will not swing out all the way - they bump into the brake handle. But these minor issues do not affect the fact that this chair is the best thing I've purchased to help with the long recovery (three months no weight bearing) that I face. ... show more
