This is a very premium piece, with attention to every detail of its design and appearance. Even the way it arrived, it's packed and protected very well. The main body has a faux brushed stainless steel appearance that is very convincing. The PTZ heaters are covered by a dark mesh screen, which leads to the angled smoked control panel. There are status indicators for when it's plugged in and dim enough to find in the dark when off but not so bright as to become bothersome during sleep. The panel controls are intuitive and functions are mimicked on the remote. Heat output is immediate as it defaults into High mode when turned on for the first time. There is only one fan speed. The fan is a vertical length of squirrel cage to push air from the back through the elements. I was hoping that this fan design would be silent. But an audible noise is present, if slight. The oscillation mode is silent though, no mechanical noises from the movement. The temp sensored AC plug is a big plus in my book. Too many high current heaters suffer from overheating at the AC outlet interface. This unit is always monitoring that for problems in operation. Reassuring when asleep or out of the room. It's options are pretty inclusive, from straight heat output to ECO mode for a 'climate control' style of operation maintaining a comfort zone. To fan only mode for creating airflow to equalize room temp or capture solar gain in a southern facing room with sunshine. There is a 12Hr timer for countdown operation. It's only missing programmed scheduling, but that would be deemed a safety concern. It would be cool to have it start automatically before you wake up or get home, to be greeted by a warm space. We don't think much about portable heaters, until the furnace fails! :) A week of no heat in the Winter made a mental note for this Winter. And a good option should you be alone and not need to heat up an entire dwelling, just your personal space. Also, these portable heaters are great to have in case you are renting an old cabin for a ski or hunting trip. It's nice to be prepared and have options these days! ... show more

    • Nice heater with some drawbacks

I like this heater. It will work well for the situation I want to use it for. The heater puts out a good amount of heat. I do think the fan could be stronger. But it's adequate. It's very quiet. I'm guessing quietness was one of the reasons for not having a stronger blowing fan. I can see the timer function being very useful to many people even if it's not something I would use. The remote is simple but seems to work solidly. I will be using the eco function which allows you to set a temp and then the heater decides by the difference in temperature which wattage to use, high or low. That's perfect for my needs. But if you don't want to use that mode, there doesn't seem to be a way to set a temperature. I can see that being a problem to those who just want to turn it on low, medium or high wattage setting and set a thermostat. I can't understand why they would lock the thermostat function only to the one Eco mode. But for my needs it will work great. And the oscillation is a big plus for me. I won't be able to put it to full use for awhile because I'm in Dallas and it's still warm here for a good time longer usually. I'll update this if I have any issues come this winter. ... show more

The DREO oscillating ceramic space heater is the perfect size at 25 inches tall. It is slender and takes up little room. The heater warms up quickly. The device oscillates circulating air throughout the room. It took the fan about 30 minutes to heat a 500 square foot room. That is much faster than our older space heater. The remote control means you can stay in bed and turn the heat on. My biggest worry about space heaters is a fire being started. This heater has more than one safety features. The heater will shut down if tipped over. The plug also detects overheating and shuts the heater down displaying a warning. The heater is also made of fire retardant materials. This is a great alternative to turning the house heat on of heat in one area is needed. The price of the heater is great when compared to others with less features. ... show more

My home office is in the basement, and as we all learned in grade school, heat rises. That means my home office is often pretty cold, especially in the winter. The rest of the house is warm, so I don't want to turn up the thermostat, which would cost a ton of money anyway. So smaller space heaters are the way to go. This one is great, and provides exactly what I need. It's a vertical standing one, which is good, as they tend to be more powerful than smaller floor-based models, and it can spit out a lot of heat. It has 5 modes, although I've only used the 4 heat ones (H1-H3, & ECO, the 5th is just a fan). You can set a temperature or a timer on it so it turns off automatically, and you can optionally have it oscillate to spread the heat around more if you want. It's got a ton of features, pretty much everything you'd want, but the main reason I wanted it is the remote. My desk faces the wall, and the heater is about 10 feet behind me when I'm working. I'm lazy, and often in meetings, so I don't want to get up to change the heat settings if it gets warm enough, or if I forget to turn it on. The remote means I can keep it on my desk and adjust the heater without standing up awkwardly during the meeting. So yes, I love it, and I may be getting another one for my daughter's bedroom, which tends to be cooler than the rest of the house too sometimes. ... show more
