I could not imagine a clock I'd like more. It's thoroughly attractive. It was easy to set up and keeps time well (unlike, for example, the clock on my microwave). It has varying levels of brightness. Level 2 is perfect day and night for me. It acts as a nightlight. If someone didn't want that faint blue glow whilst sleeping, he could just turn it down to Level 1 before bed and change it back to 2 in the daytime. This basic wooden alarm clock gets the job done for an affordable price, but has some drawbacks in quality and lacking certain desired features. On the plus side, the large 1.8" red LED display numbers are very easy to read from across the room as advertised. The dimmable brightness settings are handy to adjust for day/night visibility preferences. And the optional battery backup is a nice security blanket in case of power outages, though the display won't light up on battery power alone. The array of adjustable alarm volume levels from soft to loud is appreciated. However, I was disappointed to find the clock does not run on batteries alone as I had hoped - it requires being plugged into AC power to function beyond just the alarm backup. The included AC adapter and USB charging port are conveniences, though. While the simple wooden design has a nice minimalist aesthetic, the overall build quality feels a bit cheap and flimsy, making me question its long-term durability. The asking price was fair for the features, but I can't say I expect this to be an alarm clock that lasts for years and years. For basic bedside or desktop needs on a budget, this gets the job done okay. But audiophiles or those with higher quality expectations may want to look at higher-end alarm clock options. For the past 10 years or more, I was using an old fashioned digital alarm clock that looked straight out of the 90s. It worked fine, but the print was extremely small and wasn’t helpful for those early mornings when you’re trying to figure out what time it is. I wanted a new clock that fit better with the aesthetic of my room and also had bigger numbers, and this one has worked great for me! I don’t use the alarm function because I prefer to use my cell phone for that, but the clock itself has been perfect. The design is sleek and goes well with the colors in my room and the furniture. It was easy to set up too. The only thing I would note is that the numbers are VERY bright. If you have a hard time sleeping with even a hint of light, this may not be for you. If you don’t mind the brightness or are able to put the clock somewhere it won’t bother you, then that should resolve the issue. ... show more

Easy to set up--didn't even need to read the instructions. Looks nice. I like the dimming feature. I like the button to change to/from Daylight Savings time.
