The power-efficient heat pump pool heater is electric powered with an input requirement of 208 - 230 Vac. The non-corrosive design makes this unit ideal for all environments including coastal climate, maintaining the swimming pool at an ideal consistent temperature. Extending the swimming to all year long. The Dr. Heater heat pump is designed with industry-leading technology for top performance and stability. Our Full DC Inverter fan motor and compressor can adjust heating capacity between 20% - 100% for the most efficient operation. We are trying to build a fully solar + battery powered home... so we knew we wanted to ditch our natural gas pool heater for a heat pump model. We decided on the Dr. Infrared DR-00HP because it is a variable inverter system that is as efficient as possible. Even in the winter, we can heat our 580 gallon hot tub from 57F to 100F in about 6 hours and uses 20kWh of energy. A non heat pump model would be 61kWh of energy so that's a COP of 3 in the winter. in the summer i've seen it above 4, on warmer days. Obviously, if you're in a rush to heat the pool, a natural gas heater can't be beat, heating that same hot tub in about 1 hour, but now with solar, we can heat the pool and hot tub and do it for free! So if you want to go low carbon, and save money, solar plus pool heat pump is an awesome choice. We were spending about $300 per month on natural gas for the pool, and now that is entirely removed. Depending on your electricity rates, vs natural gas rates, it can be worth it even if you don't have solar. The system also produces water that we run into our gray water system, to water our plants! Had it for over a year, and it works incredibly well, and we highly recommend! They also have a larger 140,000 BTU model if you want even faster heating. works well with our existing Pentair automation system, and was a breeze to install. Don't forget about the water drain, as it can produce quite a bit of water. You can just have it flow out to plants or down a drain.

Work very well. The Wifi connection was very quick and easy. Power consumption is very good. I think with our provider it cost less than $.50/hour at 100% load. It's good value for me as we can extent the pool usage by several months. On top of good performance, the design is pretty cool and it does not look ugly in our side yard.

This heat pump seemed well made and worked as advertised for a little over a week. The controls are cumbersome... having to push and hold buttons to select, lock, and unlock (counterintuitive). Not great at heating, even when it worked; and nowhere near as fast as a gas or electric heater. Then... it threw a code for gas exhaust temperature sensor failure and stopped working altogether. Manual identifies the code with a description, but that is it. Website has NOTHING. I finally received a response from company. They had me troubleshooting potential solutions that did not work. Then, they refused to do anything else! They said their warranty does not cover technicians, nor repair, nor return… despite the unit being installed less than two weeks and owned just over a month. DO NOT BUY... TOO MUCH MONEY WASTED FOR A NOW USELESS HUNK OF METAL. Since install takes longer than return period and company would not honor their warranty, despite it being in operation for only about a week, I had to pay a restocking fee to get rid of it. So, I am out more than a thousand dollars on the unit and another couple thousand for the install (concrete pad, plumbing, and electrical)… and have NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT! STAY AWAY FROM THIS GARBAGE.

Bought the 900 for my pool and jacuzzi. Does a good job getting my jacuzzi up to a high temp in less than an hour. Pool heating is fast as well for its size. My pool measures 17x30ft. The app is very handy and easy to use as well.

This is a BIG unit. It arrived on time and was well packaged. It was simple to hook up if you don’t mind wiring 240v. It is very quiet and seems to be efficient. (My electric bill did not skyrocket). Plumbing it into the system was simple as well. The app works well also. The instructions could have been better as far as how to operate the heat pump but the whole thing was pretty intuitive. I would buy again.
