First off this is well built for the price. I have a couple of dong cheng items and they are solid tools. This tool has a good hit for a small sds, more than my bosch bulldog extreme (but that also specs out less ft lbs). My bosch gave up after many many years of service and abuse and flooding but still got a few jobs in after flooding. This SDS is going to be great for vertical jobs i've also used it to remove stucco from walls and chipping lintel and block to open a doorway. Also great for short horizontal jobs. Downside to this is definitely the weight for horizontal chipping jobs where you're using it for long periods. The larger compatible bosch for example will be several lbs lighter. This style form factor isn't as good for tile removal as you'll be bending down more and having to control it more with 2 hands though a long tile removal blade will help with that, and it will do a quicker job. Ultimately I like this, for the price it can't be bear, but i'll need another bulldog or similar for the form factor, and lighter hit and wall chipping jobs but that's fine as that was too light of a hit for working lintels and other jobs. Update: been working this hard. Recently used it to bust out concrete headers , 2 inch core drill through a 6 inch 55 year old footer, and 3 incher thru block. That put it work for sure especially on that concrete footer. Gotta say it's heavy but seems a good value for sure.

I have always hated drilling into brick or concrete. My 30 yr. old Black & Decker corded drill can handle up to a 3/16" hole for a tap-con screw, but every masonry drill bit I ever used with it was only good for about 3 uses, and it still took with some force on my part to drill into the material. This Rotary Hammer Drill has been an absolute game changer for drilling into or through brick, concrete, and concrete block. It is so easy to use and makes quick work of the job, with the tool doing all the work! After 8-days without power in Nashville due to winter storm Fern, I decided it was time to invest in a larger portable generator to be correctly wired into my electric panel. I had to drill a 3/4 hole through 16 inches of block and brick to run conduit through the wall to connect generator circuit breaker wiring to an outside mounted 50-amp outlet box for plugging in the cord from the generator. I used a 18" SDS-Plus drill bit, and I was amazed at how easy the drill went through block and brick to make the hole I needed. This tool isn't light but appears sturdy and well-made. I am very pleased with the purchase and highly recommend this tool.

This isn't some Milwaukee or Dewalt tool, but it did do the job it advertised. I received the tool, put it together, set it to hammer drill mode, and off to the races it went. It did excellent with the bit I chose, drilled 4 different holes through 50 year old concrete in 2 minutes tops. However, I then went back through those same holes with a slightly larger bit (working my way up to 5/8's), and as I was drilling out the second hole, the bit caught on the concrete and refused to spin, making quite an awful noise in the process. I stopped, pulled the drill out of the hole, and started again. This time it got a little further, but still it caught somewhere in the concrete. It still hammered while caught, but refused to spin the bit (basically switching to hammer only mode). I was a little frustrated, so I pulled the tool back up, switched to hammer only mode, and went back down, try to clear off the sides of the hole from whatever rock or pebble in the concrete that might be catching the bit (or maybe even rebar, I wasn't sure, but didn't see any sparks). After that I switched back to the drill mode, went at it, and it finally quit catching. It caught again in the last hole, so I used the same trick and it worked just fine. Overall, it did the job better than my Milwuakee drill with a hammer function did, and by a long shot. For the price I paid, it made quick work of the concrete and would've done a lot more if I needed it to. A little on the heavier side, but it's completely worth it for the occasional use.

So long story short: we came in and had to knock out a failed mortar bed for a shower that a previous vendor had incorrectly installed. Like other reviews, I can attest that this thing is a seriously heavy-duty tool. It was the other reviews, in fact, that gave me confidence to give it a try. It's packaged extremely well, feels solid, and was totally affordable. We own a few rotary hammer type of tools, but this thing has outdone them all.
