  • The E25 works great!
Size: Explorer E25 Wi-Fi
This is the best reasonably priced, corded, in-ground pool vacuum available. We had another, more expensive brand, which would miss parts of my pool, even after three cycles. The Dolphin E25 model is basically plug and play. I didn't need to use the associated app, and it works great. It has two filter boxes, does a great job on the pool floor and sides, and doesn't get stuck on stairs. It's easy to clean and filters about 4500 gallons per hour, much more than most cordless models, which typically lose battery life after a season. The cord is 51 feet and makes it easy to pull in when it finishes. Very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Works great with an Intex Easy-Set Pool!
Size: E10
We have an above ground, Intex Easy-Set pool. I've struggled with keeping it clean the entire time we've had it. I first tried a manual vacuum that connected to the filter intake, but the filter struggled with it (like trying to suck water through a REALLY long straw) and it was a hassle to set up and use. Then I tried a self powered vacuum that attached to a pole...this worked better but was a lot of work and time consuming because you constantly had to stop and clean out the small debris filter. Then I tried one of those automatic filters than you attach to the water inlet...this worked OK but didn't filter small particles, did not have any kind of scrubbing action and was also a bit of a hassle to set up (having to shut the filter off, attach the huge hose, restart the filter, etc.) Which brings me to the Dolphin. Of all the cleaners I've tried, this is by far the best in terms of ease of use and cleaning ability. You plug it in, chuck it in the pool and run a cycle (or two). It gets the pool as clean as any of the methods I've tried but with almost none of the work or drawbacks. Couple things of note... Our Intex pool has sloped edges, I was worried about this causing the Dolphin to tip over or have problems. This hasn't happened...the Dolphin is totally stable and a happy discovery was that even though this model is not designed to do so...the sloped sides allow the Dolphin to climb the walls pretty well. One downside is that because of the shape of the corners of the pool and the size of the Dolphin, it can't really reach all the way into the corners...I had to use a brush to push the debis out of the corners for the Dolphin to grab. I've seen a couple complaints about the Dolphin doing "wheelies" all the time and not cleaning because of this. Ours does do wheelies every now and then...but I'm pretty sure this is by design. From watching it, it seems to do wheelies as a method of changing direction. It'll pop up on it's back wheels, turn, then lay back down and keep going. Another complaint I've seen is in regards to the filter basket not catching small particles. Based on those complaints I went ahead and ordered the additional "ultra-fine" filter (which is made of a papery mesh material, similar to a pool cartridge filter). In hindsight, I don't think I needed to buy that. I don't know for sure but I "think" they may have upgraded the included filter at some point as the standard filter has no problem catching algae particles and the regular "pool scum" type stuff. The included filter basket is not made with the same "pool cartridge" material, but does still have a very fine screen that seems to get everything. I have not even tried the additional filter as I haven't needed it. So anyhow...they're expensive compared to many options. But if you like having a very clean pool with little effort...this is the way to go! ... show more

  • Works great so far
Size: Explorer E25 Wi-Fi
So far so good. Had no issues setting it up and getting it connected via the app. It is running on a schedule which works great. It has been doing a great job of getting all over the pool and I have not noticed it miss any areas yet. A big plus for me was that has not been getting stuck on my two main drains like my previous cleaner constantly did. This cleaner appears to go right over them with ease. Easy to retrieve and clean out the filters. It does appear to get all the way up to the waterline, which was not important for me, but a nice addition. ... show more

  • Gets stuck on drain everytime. No real world fix from Maytronics.
I had high hopes for this pool cleaner as an update to my Dolphin Triton that died a few weeks ago after only 3 years of use. The E30 promised better Wi-Fi connectivity and smarter navigation, so I shelled out the cash thinking it'd be a seamless upgrade for my inground pool. Boy, was I wrong—this thing is a total lemon. The first use was promising: it picked up about 75% of the leaves scattered across the pool floor and filled the basket to the brim, which had me optimistic for easy maintenance ahead. But starting the next use, it turned into a nightmare. No matter where I drop it in—shallow end, deep end, middle of the pool—it beelines straight for one of the drains like it's magnetized to it. Within about 15 minutes, it's stuck, wheels spinning futilely. I've tried repositioning it mid-cycle, or turning off the pump. Nothing works. It literally seeks out that drain every single time, as if the "smart" mapping is broken and fixated on self-sabotage. I reached out to Maytronics support, hoping for a firmware update or quick fix. Their "solution"? Modify my pool's drain so the robot bumps off it. Are you kidding me? Spend hundreds on a premium cleaner, and they want me to hack my own pool infrastructure? Fix your robot, folks! This isn't innovative engineering; it's lazy design that ignores basic real-world pool setups. At this point, I'm returning it and, after the Triton dying after only 3 years and now this debacle, looking only for non-Dolphin/Maytronics products. Save your money and stick with something proven—or at least one that doesn't hunt down its own kryptonite. Major disappointment from a brand I trusted. 1 star only because zero isn't an option. ... show more
