In the past I got one of those little warming mats for our chicken coop. We are in Florida so we dont' need this often. But, a few weeks ago it dipped into the 30's. I connected this in our chicken coop and it emitted a good level of warmth. Not too hot, but, just enough that it made us fill a bit better. I'm not so sure the chickens cared -- I mean they have been living for centuries in all weather climates without external heat. But, I think they did give us a couple of extra eggs the next day so maybe it was appreciated. It was plug and play. No installation needed. Quite functional.

This is one of those products you don’t realize you needed until you see how well it works. I got it to keep our outdoor pets warm. First off, the temperature control is clutch. Being able to set it between 95–100°F means I’m not out here guessing or worrying if they’re too hot or too cold. And it heats up fast.The part that sold me as a mom? Safety. It has overheat protection, and the chew-proof cord is a blessing because if your pets are anything like mine, they think everything is a snack. This cord isn’t giving them anything to work with. It’s also compact and easy to mount, so it fits perfectly in a small dog house or even a chicken coop without taking up valuable space. I love that it’s 300/600W, so I can choose how much power I want to use depending on the weather. Overall, if you’ve got outdoor pets and you want to keep them warm without stressing yourself out, this heater is really that one.

I tested it in my house and it ran at 73 degrees but outside it’s running at 53 degrees. I have it on low. It just turned cold, all of a sudden, which is hard on chickens when it's a sudden temperature change. One of my girls seems to be very cold so she is sitting under the little heater, so I’m glad I have it for her. The heater is easy to hang and luckily, I had an outlet where I wanted it to go. The cord is long so I will have to hang the cord up with clips or drape it over a line of nails. I have the heater about 12 inches from the straw but the straw is barely warm so I’m not worrying about it catching on fire but I will turn it off at night because of the straw. But if I moved the straw, I could leave it on all night. But, I have 2 carbon heaters hanging from the ceiling for nighttime use. The power button is located on the cord encased in some plastic housing. I don't particularly like the plastic because it's sometimes tricky to push it in.

Just received the unit, people do your homework please. Animals have a comfortable temperature just like humans, so please don’t have your pets cook in 95 or 100 degrees with this heater. Unless you like to keep the inside of your house at 100 degrees in the winter this is not safe for animals. When I got it I didn’t not think it would head up to 95 or 100 degrees for a dog house before shutting off. Frustrating because it looks like a great heater.

This house heater works perfectly for my dogs outside home. I don't keep him out much but when I do it's nice to know that he'll be warm and comfortable in his home. I think he actually loves it out there now! The heater is easy to mount and pet friendly safe. It's simple and straightforward to use without any confusing buttons, programming or other non sensible controls. I have a smaller dog so his home isn't very large, but, I would be confident to say this would heat up a larger home. I also like the style and the size. I think this is a perfect value for your money and your animal will love you for it, which means you should love yourself for it as well.

This heater is made specifically for a dog house so I wont have to worry about a space heater or anything dangerous. This hangs up perfectly in my cat mansion. I have a little door they can go in and the heater hangs in there. Nice and warm and cozy.
