Can my dog eat and drink while wearing this? Yes. The soft, inflatable design allows most dogs to eat, drink, sleep, and move around more comfortably than a hard plastic cone. Will this stop my dog from licking their paws? This collar is designed to limit access to the neck, chest, back, and shoulder area. It may not fully prevent a determined dog from reaching their paws, lower legs, or tail. For paw or tail wounds, a traditional cone may be more effective. How do I keep it from slipping off? Use the built-in loops to thread your dog's regular collar through the donut. This provides a more secure fit and helps keep the recovery collar in place. Is the cover washable? The outer fabric cover is removable and can be washed. Please check the care label and remove the inner inflatable ring before washing. How do I choose the right size? Measure your dog's neck circumference with a soft tape measure. This XL size fits necks measuring 21 to 24 inches. When in doubt, size down rather than up to prevent the collar from being too large. Inflate to about 80% full. This leaves enough "give" for the collar to be soft and comfortable as a pillow while still maintaining a firm barrier to prevent licking. Do not over-inflate. This collar is great. We had purchased a different one at first, but our dog chewed through the buckle and popped the inflatable tube that goes in it. This one is so much better. It's wider, so he can't get to his "bits", and is extremely durable. He hasn't chewed threw anything on it and the fastener is well designed with a D ring that holds the Velcro strip. He can't seem to easily reach that on this one. It's super cute too! we got the orange design and honestly, it looks like he's ready to go to the pool in his floatie! ... show more

This product is beyond cute. It really works and it is so helpful for nail trims, baths or anytime you're concerned that your pet might get snappy. Also a great alternative to an Elizabethan collar after surgery. I'm taking one star off because it is a little overpriced.

We purchased this product because our dog had been neutered and the cone that the veterinarian made us buy was not so helpful in stopping our dog from licking himself. The cone was very flimsy, cheap, and too small. So once we found this product and tried it for ourselves we saw how much of a difference this made in keeping our dog from licking his stitches. It’s super light weight, I only needed to pump air into the valve to puff up the collar. The material outside the inflatable collar is very breathable and washable, and it’s adjustable to my dogs neck size. This collar does not come off our dogs neck and is super comfortable as my dog uses it as a pillow and it helps our dog from getting to his stitches. I rate it a 12/10! Totally worth the money, don’t buy the cheap plastic head cones. ... show more

So Ella had surgery on her lip to remove a tumor. Ergo cone of shame. I knew she would need one for a longer period so elected to try the inflatable as we really just needed her to not scratch her ears. She hates the traditional cones so I thought I would try this. We ordered the XL as she was 2 inches above the large on the size chart for neck when measuring. Ella is a 5 year old 85 lb Golden retriever. I’ll start with the pros. It’s cute, it’s overall easy to set up. It dries fast. It’s easy to wipe down. It’s somewhat of a pillow so she can lay on it and snuggle more comfortably than a traditional plastic cone. Cons. It doesn’t prevent her from going to a doorjam and yanking out 6/7 sutures. Or going to a wall at an angle and rubbing at her face. If she eats with it on (which is necessary or she stops to scratch) the cover gets quite dirty. Almost need two so that you can trade them out. I’ve been using dawn power wash spray on a papertowel to clean up between meals. I also use dog wipes on her fur to help with any itchiness. I found it impossible to inflate without using my air pump. So make sure you get one if you don’t have. It also needs to be partially reinflated each day as well as the collar adjusted as the collar material comes loose. Ella has successfully escaped twice from the cone of shame in the morning before I add more air by rubbing against the wall/door moulding in the hallway. I think she’s rolling until the collar starts to loosen as the material doesn’t stay set and then finishes it off on the woodwork. If your doggo is smart and an escape artist like mine then be prepared to set the alarm to add the extra air every morning so they won’t escape said cone of shame when you’re in the shower. I also had to cut excess off the Velcro strap as it was extremely long and dangling on the ground where she would trip even if I looped it. I cut off over 6 inches. I thought this was strange as the collar (though I need to tighten it daily) doesn’t have a lot of spare room. Overall I’m rating it a 3. Mainly for novelty factor and that it’s soft for her to lie on. There are some obvious design flaws of the cone for the more creative dogs like mine though that enjoy a challenge. If your dog is lazy you’re probably fine with minimal worry and just the daily adjustment. I think they need to make the collar material better. It’s too easy for dogs to slip at current as it gets loose with repeated movement. I have to tighten it daily. I think for the size fit some not much larger dogs than Ella would have trouble getting into the XL. As my dog was successful in yanking out 6/7 sutures overnight while in the cone and required an emergency vet visit in the morning I can’t say I’m entirely pleased with the product. I ordered this for our senior dog after he had surgery to get a tumor removed. It was super easy to blow up and put on him. It did not come with a collar for attachment so I used one we had on hand. He was comfortable with it on and slept on it like a pillow. He spent a lot of time bouncing off of door jams with this on, but it stayed intact well. Also very easy to clean! ... show more

This dog cone collar looks nice but it is a HUGE ring. There should be no way for your dog to get to neutering stitches but if you want him to get out the doggie door, there is no way that will happen. If you let your dog out the door manually, then this is a great choice for you. It was horrible to inflate, the zipper is difficult, and I'm sure if a dog got to it, it will pop easily. ... show more
