To start, I have recurring neck and back problems. I also have a ginormous head making it difficult to support my neck and be comfortable. Often when I wake up the muscle between my neck and shoulder is basically a camel hump. I was using another brand pillow filled with shredded foam material, but I was continuously adjusting it and using other pillow to prop some edges up. I decided it was time for a new pillow and took a plunge on getting this Coop King Size Latex Pillow. When I first opened it I did not notice any smells. It felt medium soft, and not sufficient to really support my head and get my neck aligned. There was an included pouch of additional latex foam fill. I ended up loading all of it into the pillow and it felt just the perfect size. First use I noticed my neck was aligned and not bent either way, and my head was also cradled. I did not use any other pillows to prop up any sides. I woke up in the morning and my camel humps were nowhere to be found! While the price of the pillow is quite substantial, I think it is well worth the money. My only concern is longevity of the stitching and material. I can order packages of the filling without a new pillow so volume loss can be solved pretty reasonably. Excited to sleep now! Also eyeing some other Coop products. I can definitely use a new body pillow, foot pillow (6'4" so I need an extra pillow just for my feet since body pillows to run the full length). Also interested in the sheets and blankets since I'm already impressed with the quality of their latex pillow. All in all, no regrets purchasing. 🙏🏻 ... show more

I’ve had this pillow for a couple of weeks and I love it so so much. I added a bit of filling and threw it in the dryer according to the instructions. I have continued to pop it in the dryer for 10 minutes once a week and it refluffs it. It keeps its shape well, and it’s very comfortable for me being a side and back sleeper. It’s the perfect height to support my neck and shoulders and the shoulder cutout is the best invention ever. I love it, well worth the money to me. Quality is great, no weird smell, very think plush zipped casing. The filling is super fluffy and soft and doesn’t get hard in the cold air like foam. ... show more

    • Fill Moves Around Causing Issues

I wanted to love this pillow but it has some issues. For context, I have had the original coop pillow for nearly 2 years and it has started to go flat. I LOVE the original but read that the filling in the new ones had gone down in quality so I needed something new. I tried a normal latex, a purple pillow, tempurpedic, and this shredded latex. This was the best one of the bunch but it still isn’t cutting it. Pros: Higher loft than other pillows, nice pillow case, doesn’t get as compressed as other pillows, not as bouncy as a pure latex pillow, comfy when I first lay on it Cons: The latex fill moved around SO much. I always wake up in the night and all the fill is above my head and my head is no longer supported which causes me to have to flip it over and over again. I used all the fill that was provided so the fill is not the issue. I have to fluff the pillow before bed each night. I like the case but the case from the original is better. It has high loft at the beginning of the night but sinks. I’m considering buying additional fill to try to fix the issue of it moving around or maybe putting my tighter original pillow case on it. I’ve been a super happy Coop Eden sleeper for almost 7 years, and felt it was time to replace it. I’ve had a little neck pain so decided to try out their adjustable latex pillow. While I’ve only slept on it one night, it does seem to have to right combination of cushy feel and support. I slept very well and my neck feels good. The smell is a little weird but after fluffing in a cool dryer and letting air out, removed from the outer case, it’s much better. My husband who had the same Eden pillow opted to replace his with the Purple Dreamlayer and loves it but for me it’s too firm and heavy. I’m still trying to decide if I’ll love the latex as much as the Eden. We sleep on a hybrid latex mattress that has been a game changer with the support of memory foam but not the feeling of being trapped when trying to move. As a side sleeper, I found that I did have to add all of the extra fill to get the loft right for me, where with the Eden I had to remove some so the feel is different. It’s a wonderful pillow that I’m hoping serves me as well as the Eden did. ... show more

I own SEVEN Coop pillows and this Latex pillow is my newest. I have the original, which I bought 7 years ago after a spinal fusion in my neck. Due to terrible neck pain, I went through every kind of pillow imaginable. I had a pillow 'graveyard' on the side of my bed....until I found Coop. I have used that pillow for all seven years. Never had a headache or neck ache since. You know when you sleep funny and when you wake up you can't turn your head one way for a few days? That hasn't happened since. So I noticed my original Coop fill was discoloring or maybe drying out(?). So I figured it was time for a new pillow. Ofc I bought a Coop! I now have the latex. It has taken some getting used to bc it's springy and 'flatter'.( I may purchase more fluff to give it a bit more loft) It holds it's shape. By which, I mean if your head makes an indent, as soon as you lift your head it goes right back to the original shape. I'm a person who 'smushes' my pillow into whatever shape I like, so this is new. But I do like it. No head or neck aches. Maybe just not as 'dreamy' as the original. Also- it is very 'cool' throughout the night. ... show more

I was really looking forward to this pillow. I slept on latex pillows for many years before switching to something else for medical needs. But I have neck and shoulder issues (including a recent surgery which significantly increased the importance of a good pillow) and often headaches so I need something plushy soft but also supportive. I did a lot of research after varying memory foam pillows were too hard on my shoulder and kept coming back to this pillow because it was supposed to be supportive but soft and springy, not fighting back to inflate like memory foam, but the price was out of my budget originally so when this pillow went on sale, I took it as a sign. The smell coming out of the box was so strong it made me nauseous. So we have been letting it air out, testing the smell every few days, and it has not dissipated much. I had a pillow protector but it didn’t help so I finally bought a nice pillow protector to try and encapsulate the smell even better and it’s enough to finally make it tolerable. I was so excited to finally try it and that was so disappointing. The filling had no plushness feel, it was all just a rock. I guess you could say it was supportive of my neck but hurt my head and shoulders. We adjusted the filling to see if that would help and it did not. I’m so disappointed. And then the kicker is my return window closed yesterday so I’m stuck with an expensive rock hard smelly pillow. It’s just so disappointing ... show more

So far so good. I think I found the one! I have gone through two other coop pillows. I like the quality I just have a hard time finding the perfect loft and firmness. The first one I bought was not for me but my husband likes it. It was too hard for me and I woke up with a headache however I did like the shoulder cut out. I then bought the Eden pillow which is a medium firm pillow. It worked for about a year but would flatten out and feel too compact and hard I would need to fluff it regularly. I heard about Talalay latex pillows and thought I would research them and was surprised to see coop had just came out with one in February so I bought it since I do like the quality and customization of coop pillows. This pillow is soft yet supportive due to the latex. You’re not going to sink to the bottom. It bounces back to it’s shape every morning so I know it will be perfect when I lay my head down at night. It doesn’t put pressure on my head and neck and cause any headaches. I slept on it the way it came for a couple nights before deciding I needed to add more filling. I used half the bag of filling and it is perfect now. It is a cooling pillow as well my Eden did get a little warm for me. The great quality of all of the coop pillows are worth the money. The outside cases are nice and thick I still use my own pillow case but appreciate the quality of the one it comes with. The zippers are nice and smooth as well. All of their pillows are heavier but I prefer that. ... show more
