Many years ago, I spent $100+ on more "professional" Oster pet hair clippers. I can't believe these affordable clippers work BETTER than the big name brand. We recently adopted an obese cat who had terrible matting down both her sides. The matts were down to her skin and almost like the hair was glued into hard clumps. Over the course of an hour and a half, I slowly clipped away all the matts! The clippers never nicked her and are pretty quiet (might still spook a more skittish cat). I had to figure out a technique that worked for us (I would brush around her face as I clipped her). I got faster once I practiced and went along. As you can see, I got a LOT off. She now looks like an edgy punk! I can tell she's so much more comfortable, having all those lumps removed. I also did a sanitary trim around her hind end. My sister mentioned that her vet tech friend uses the same brand clippers at their vet clinic. They charge fast and are small and nimble. Even if these clippers don't last forever, I already got my money's worth and I would buy the same ones again and again!

I have two cats and both are completely lethargic in this summer heat. Additionally, one of the cats does not clean himself much at all. They are both about 6 years old, both rescues who have lived with me for 3 years. My vet wanted $175 to do a shave. Very low noise, did not bother my tuxedo cat at all. Easy USB charge. For Sylvester I used no comb addition. I had tried first with the shortest comb, but his short sleek hair just wouldn't catch. So I used the shaver without a comb. You see a toothbrush in the photo. It does not come with the shaver, but works much better at cleaning the shaver after each use than the little brush that is included. Between my daughter and myself, the photo represents about 3 days (less than 2 hours) of shaver visits. I have a couple spots to clean up but think I'll let him keep his sweater; his front legs and paws are the only parts he cleans. Also, before starting, we watched a few YouTube videos on how to shave a cat.

Only real gripe is that the cutting guides don't seem to be very helpful at all, at least not with my cat's fur. I'll maybe update when I've gotten the other half of him trimmed. Cat's aren't super patient about it even with bribery. It is pretty quiet! My cat is VERY paranoid about sounds ( former stray ) and it didn't seem to bother him. Word to the wise: Without a cutting guide, you want to trim with the grain and not against it and don't press down with the blade, the shaver has this rounded part between the blade and power switch: I press that lightly against my cat and tilt until the blade finds fur and then just sort of skim where you need to trim. I hope this makes some kind of sense and is of some help.

Where has this been my whole life? My cats get terrible mats every spring/summer, and I always have to spend a small fortune getting them groomed. I recently moved to a very small town where there are no cat groomers. I ordered this after a friend reccomended it to me and it works so well!! Its not silent by any means, but its also not loud enough to scare my cat away, and cuts through those thick mats so easily!!

This clipper is very quiet and the design seems very safe for use on pets. We've been using it to shave excess fur from between our dog's toes and to trim her hiney and private parts. The cutting blade as smooth rounded tip, which we feel makes it easy and safe to use. The only negative is that 1 of the 2 sliding cutters is plastic, and we feel this will wear out (dull) quicker than if both cutters were stainless steel. Overall, we like this trimmer very much and feel it's worth the price, even if we have to replace it every year when it gets dull.

I really didn't understand how these clippers would be much different then ones for humans. The clippers my husband uses for his haircuts were not working for cats so I opted to try these before going to a groomer. These shave like butter! Like... Wow. Super easy to use due to being so light weight and powerful and low noise so my cat wasn't super nervous about it. Probably the coolest discovery I've had in a while was learning I could groom my cat on my own.

These clippers are excellent at tackling any type of fur. My cat, a long hair, needed a big shave since she was shedding all over the house, and the clippers were very easy at shaving her. It did take a few go arounds but my cat also needed breaks. It’s satisfying to use, and was safe when shaving my cat all over her body.

Outstanding shaver!!! I did alot of reviews before I purchased and the Vet Tech was correct. I enjoyed his review and thought I would purchase and try on my cats that has big hair balls on their back. I charge it, was silent when running and within 2 minutes I took off the big hair ball. She did not feel a thing. On my other cat worked like a charm. Definately would order again, I would give it a "10". Please order you will not be dissapointed
