One button did not work. They’re very simple to take apart. Remove 4 rubber pads, remove 4 small screws, remove two circuit board screws, gently slide circuit board up, and remove speaker. The buttons were really easy to set up but do take a lot of batteries. Super cute stickers to put on them and I have been trying really hard to get any of my pets to understand how to use them by training them, but I think it isn't something they really care about as much as one of them is scared of them and the others just don't care about them at all. Took my dog about an hour to figure out the buttons. I don't keep them on the mat. I put the more water button near her water bowl. The pee potty outside button by the back door. The belly rub button near my seat. (You get the idea) She took to it so fast I am gonna need to get another set so she can communicate more. I want to add things like gone/bye bye, where, yes, no, play etc. When my husband went outside she kept hitting his name button and looking for him so where is something I think she will understand and want to express. She does hit the buttons a lot right now but I suspect it will lessen when the novelty wears off. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It will definitely take practice for your dog, but as long as you work with them and you show them every day every time you do something that they would use the button for then they will pick up on it easier than you think! We’ve only had it for two days, and my dog already knows what the outside one means and he has pressed it all by himself one time already after only being shown just a few times! I have a 9 pound Chihuahua terrier mix who is very smart, but I would still say that if you work with your dog, they will pick up on this! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I ended up returning these. I have a 50 lb mutt who picked up on the buttons quickly but has a heavy paw. The mat that comes with these is useless and the buttons were flying all over the place. I found they were inconsistent as far as tapping goes too. Sometimes she hit square on the button and it didn’t make a noise. I think these would be great for a smaller more gentle dog. They were an affordable intro for us but I have returned and will purchase a product with sturdier matt and more secure placement of buttons. ... show more

I ordered the buttons for my Golden Retriever and he started using them immediately when I put them down! Unfortunately One of my buttons is missing pieces within the battery compartment so it does not work. 7 out of 8 isn’t bad but wish they had come all working.
