Works well. Just unfold the probe and it turns on automatically. Fold the probe back in, and it shuts off. Display is easy to read and it takes a quick measurement. The only reason I gave it 1 star is because while it does have a magnet to hold it to the fridge or oven, the magnet isn't very strong and the thermometer can slide down real easy. If they would put a slightly stronger magnet in it, or maybe even a second magnet, it would be perfect.

I purchased this item from the suggestion of my girlfriend that has one.. I have only used it once, but I think it's very good, seems reliable. The led screen seems easy to read. The magnet also is very strong. It is a pretty good size. I love that you can put it on the refrigerator or anything else that is magnetic like I have with my knives next to my stove. It has several different features also. The battery comes with it and it looks like it's a average battery that you can replace easily. You can turn the thing on and it even gives you the temperature of the room, That is how accurate it is. I also like that, it has a chart (on it) of what's degrees each meat should be or item. I would highly recommend this item. I would have no problem buying it for a gift. There is also information on the box which is nice also.

I purchased this thermometer after breaking a meat thermometer. I used it today on chicken breasts which were of different sizes and thickness and were to be baked to 155F then allowed to sit under foil for 10 minutes after taking out of oven. Due to the sizes of the pieces, I started testing them about 25 minutes into the cooking time. Two were already ready to be transferred. And within the next 15 minutes the additional 4 were pulled, and held under foil. The results were great. The thermometer 's tip just slid into the meat, the temperature is easy to read AND accurate (yes, I did a pre-test) and it was easy to handle, and to clean afterward. A bonus was an extra battery.
