  • Dewalt power station
This Dewalt power station sits around and does nothing, but you'll be glad you have it when you need it. Has multiple functions, a dead battery? jump your vehicle off with it. Need 120 power? It's there for you. No power to charge your phone or computer? plug it into the USB port or 120 AC power receptacle. Power outage and no light? turn on the built-in light or plug your lamp into the 120-volt receptacle. Mine sits around fully charged and collects dust, but it's there if I need it. ... show more

  • Partially flimsy, died after 2 years - REVISITED
The connector for the loading cable fell into the device so i had to carefully disassemble the unit after a few month to reconnect it. There is no place for the charging device on the unit - easy to loose. After 2 years it doesn’t pump tires anymore and the (lead) battery pops from full to empty within seconds. Lot of money for the dozen or so times it was used.. Features are great but not a good investment in hind sight. Revision: So that is where I was a month ago. Decided to look for a better more sturdy unit and could not really find one! They all had some issues per reviews and most of them had a little less functionality. What I ended up using the unit most for was actually pumping up tires. That happens way more often than a dead battery. Very convenient to have a portable powered tire pump. This unit lets you set the pressure and then walk away- its stops by itself. It just has a lot of features and that means more things can brake. I hate to have things go to the landfill after two years. So I decided to call DeWalt and find out if they can repair it. I explained my problem and asked them if they had issues like that often and what lifespan to expect from this model. The guy said no they should last a lot longer and then said they would make a courtesy repair at no cost including shipping although the unit was just over 2 years old !!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow. Just came back - they replaced it with a new one. That is old school cool in my book. Advise: (as spelled out on the unit) Always charge after use. It is heavy because it has a lead battery inside and that does not like to sit half empty for weeks. Also the charging cable that does not have a storage spot on the unit actually fits behind the battery clamps on the left side and that way might not be destined to get lost after all. Be careful and gentle when plugging the charging cable into the back because that socket can easily dislodge and fall inside. Can be fixed but requires major disassembly. ... show more

  • Bought TWO, GARBAGE 3 months later!
As other reviews from consumers who actually use this product and not leave it sitting in their garage waiting for that ONE time they'll need it, I actually use it. This product from DeWalt is very poorly made. Features such as a light, alternator "check", USB/ power outlet power bank is little importance to people like me. I never used those functions. When I made the purchase, I had three main reasons for doing so. First, I expected it to be of DEWALT QUALITY. Second, it was meant to be able to JUMP START my car. Third, it was supposed to INFLATE TIRES. However, the battery stopped charging fully after less than seven months of use. The device indicates that it's fully charged while plugged in, but once it's unplugged and the light is turned on, the battery level drops to 2 out of 4 bars. This is not acceptable, especially as the light is not high-wattage. After just three months, the inflator stopped working correctly. When turning on the inflator, only a very small amount of air comes out the tip and stops pushing air with the slightest resistance from my finger. I reached out to DeWalt support on EIGHT different occasions but was given the run-around 3 times. The first person I spoke with told me to email someone else, who then told me to email a different address, which led to me being told to email the original address I had already contacted. I received no response from any of my emails or calls, which is unacceptable. Unfortunately, my attempts to contact customer support dragged on for so long that both of my jumpers went out of warranty. DeWalt has been of no help whatsoever, and I am extremely disappointed with their product and failed attempt at customer service. ... show more

  • Great tool for the RV
Recently returned from a month long RV trip around the states. Another camper had a Dewalt air compressor that I tested and really liked. When I returned, I decided to purchase the model that could jump start if needed, or had other capabilities such as USB ports or 110v inverter. When I received the DeWalt jumpstart/Power station I charged it then tested. It works great. The part I really like is you set the Air to the PSI you want the tire to be, hit start and walk away. The pump will stop when it reaches the set PSI. This is also a safety feature because when putting 100PSI into these large motorhome tires, having to hold the inflater onto the valve stem can be dangerous if the tire explodes. So far I am happy with this purchase and will now carry this tool with me on my trips. ... show more

  • I love this thing ... it's the Swiss Army Knife of Battery Chargers
DeWalt makes these things in a variety of permutations. This is the only one that has all the features they offer in this sort of tool: a light, AC outlets, USB outlets, an alternator checker, tire inflator, and (of course) a battery charger. We used it to start a car we'd had in storage for months. It had a failing battery when we stored it, and was stone-cold dead by the time we went back to retrieve it. We attached the two jumper cables to the battery, turned the key, and the thing instantly roared to life. (Yes, we subsequently replaced the battery.) I've read several reviews where owners complain that, after the unit sat for half a year it didn't work well. No kidding? The instructions clearly say it should be plugged in to charge monthly. If you're worried about taking it out of your vehicle, set the thing on your hood while it charges so you won't forget it when you go out. Product well worth the money. ... show more
