We like this a lot. It was a end of school year gift for my 8 yr old son. Assembly took about 5 mins. We went to the back yard and found a baried 11mm socket (weird it wasn't a 10mm, still missing) and an old penny in about 20 mins. The penny was about 8 inches deep. There is a small learning curve but for the price you can't beat it. Not looking forward to all the holes in the backyard. We live about 15 mins from the ocean so we will definitely put some hours on the sand and less holes in the yard. The only issue is the darn bag is to small to fit the assembled unit. If you break it down sure. But really not that practical to do so. All in all, really good buy.

Product seems rugged enough although all plastic. Only used once since they were Christmas gifts. Performance was ok, but in time should be able to fine tune to detect more things. Time will tell overall how well they stand up to my grandsons, but for right now providing a great experience for them and entertainment. Good value.

The detector works good. It's not good for serious prospecting but then again it's only 40 bucks so you cant expect a professional quality detector. You need to have a pin pointer to go along with it but I think this is a fair deal.

This metal detector is so much fun! My son and I have been out several times and found little treasures. It is also so very easy to put together and use. We plan on taking the detector on our vacation this summer.
