Loud music. Late night parties. Arguments, phone calls, furniture being thrown, piercing laughter! The walls of this apartment were letting it all through, making it impossible to sleep, impossible to concentrate. Four 12-packs of the acoustic foam were enough to cover about 1/3 of the wall, and weave a checkered pattern over the rest of the wall. I could no longer hear regular conversation from the neighbours, but their shouting, music and parties, though quieter, were still loud enough to startle me awake. Six 12-packs were enough to cover nearly the entire wall. Now that whole side of the room feels like it's been drowned a veil of silence. The neighbour's music is now only faintly audible. I haven't heard them shouting since I finished installing the panels. Even managed to sleep straight through to morning last night, and that hasn't happened in over a month. These panels were expensive, and it took a lot of them to get the job done, but I'm happy to have some peace again! ... show more

I ordered these to reduce the echo in my office (and because I like the studio look). I am very happy with both function and look. I used this “Heavy-duty exterior mounting tape (holds 5-lbs) 1” x 60”” double sided tape to mount and it was super economical ($6). The tape is much sticker to the wall then the panel so I left half the cover on each piece of tape and I used two tiny .5”x.5” squares, one on each top corner of the panel and it sticks nicely to the wall paint. I removed 3 to move them and it was easy and didn’t not damage the wall. ... show more

    • Not the best plastic fiber panels, but a fantastic value
There are thicker versions of these out there but they cost more for half the number of panels. If you double them up you'd get better panels for a lower cost comparatively. I bought 3 sets since my neighbors were complaining about my chronic seasonal bronchitis. Haven't heard a a single complaint after installing them. My one complaint is that the material doesn't stick well to command strips but I fixed that issue by hot gluing them to paint stirrers. About 5 stirrers is enough to keep 4 panels together in a 4x4 arrangement due to them being very rigid unlike regular foam. You'll need heavy duty command strips as these panels are relatively heavy. ... show more

    • Okay, these are my new favorite panels to treat acoustics

I do voice over, and I used to line my room with acoustic foam. I've learned over the years that acoustic foam does not absorb sound. It just sort of lightly distributes the echoes. These acoustic sound panels ABSORB sound and reduce echoes. Easy way to tell? If you shout into it, you can hear your sound muffled. A lot of knockoffs don't do that. Sadly U Glu doesn't work for hanging, because when ever it gets warm inside, it softens and melts. Trying those heavy duty 3M mounting strips next! I can already notice a difference just by putting these on my ceiling. Room is a lot more dead now. Low profile, which I like. ... show more

So I deployed many of these and the sound is already so muted from the prior amounts. The upstairs neighbors toddler will need to start running again to see how effective it is....as for now I have a much quieter space!

What's good: lightweight, easy to install. What is not good: if you are looking for something to block noises from outside or from your neighbors, please don't waste your money or time, as these will do nothing for you. Look up the internet for the difference between acoustic treatment and soundproofing and find the proper ways to soundproof your home. One more thing, the actual color looks grayish, not the kind of white as shown in the picture. ... show more

So to start, I love these tiles! I bought 4 boxes of them so far and I can’t seem to get enough. They look amazing, they work amazing and I think I’m addicted to them, I want to hang them everywhere. So the sound? They took the echo out of my office, that’s what I needed! Are they going to be a complete recording studio solution? I think they could however I don’t think that’s what they were designed for! Not saying they aren’t amazing, just that this company makes whatever you need for every application! You want studio foam, they have it....you want to take the echo out of a living room or office, they have them. So my final thoughts, they did exactly what I needed them to do, they look outstanding, they’re super easy to install, they are not 12”x12” so don’t build a room around them!! They are 11-3/4” square. However they are consistent so it’s not like ones going to be longer then the other...they are all exactly the same. They are not cheap so make sure you buy what you need and for the right application! The quality is outstanding, if you use the regular double sided sticky tape you can take them down and move them without destroying them.....yes I’ve moved them! Super easy!
