The dehumidifier is exact!y as described.....no surprises. It does a great job of controlling the humidity in my home and the RV and runs quietly. The size is perfect for on the counter top. I really like the option of collecting the water in the tub, which is easy to drain, or using the included and attached hose and draining directly into the sink. Really great as long as you don't want the air to be dryer. It technically is a dehumidifier, but save yourself some money and buy a more expensive one. If you buy this one you'll just wind up buying another anyway. The bucket is about a quart or two and it has not filled up fully in multiple months of use. Compare that to the dehumidifier we had to buy after this, which has a multi gallon bucket that has to be emptied daily. At this point all this dehumidifier is doing is using electricity to run its tiny fan.

I bought this machine on sale and I'm happy with the results! While it's running, it dropped the humidity in my living room by 7%! It also fits into a small space and comes with nice features like multiple colors for the lights and a timer. Starting it up was also a breeze; I literally plugged it in and it was ready to go! My own complaint is it is kind of loud when running. Also, it works well for a smaller space but if you need something for a large space I don't think this machine would be efficient.

Using in a laundry room to keep humidity from harming WiFi and cellular repeater devices that I cannot place in other location. Keeps humidity right, drains easily into washer drain. Small shelf size a plus for me as it sits right next to router and cell unit.

My basement dehumifier broke and I looked at multiple products and read I read the reviews and it looked like this product was exactly what I needed for my basement. People were happy with it. However, I ran this for roughly 3 hours before deciding to return it and here is the why: I discovered why you could not set a desired humidity and this is because it is not powerful enough to actually reach a humidity you want. In the three hours that it ran, the relative humidity actually went up and there was less than 1/4 cup water in the basin. It has a pleasant white noise and pretty colors, but if you want it to function as a dehumidifer that works for a room larger than a closet, look elsewhere. This is not a dehumidifer that will work for the advertised 980 sq feet. I'd trust it for 98 sq feet, though. I can't attest to the gravity drain method as it never pulled enough moisture out of the air to reach the drain spout. The replacement I bought (an actual dehumidifier) pulled multiple pints out of the air in less than 2 hours and dropped the humidity by nearly 20%. I wouldn't trust this product to do the same even if it ran for 24 hours. If you don't want to worry about mold/mildew in a basement, don't buy this product.

Needed a dehumidifier for the houseboat. The humidifier is quiet and efficient. The water holder is easy to remove to dump. The hose option is great; I set the humidifier on the countertop beside the kitchen sink position the hose to drain into the sink. I can be away from the boat knowing the humidity is being reduced. The auto shutoff is reassuring, and the timer (multiple settings) is a wonderful bonus. By the way, I bought a second one for my finished basement.

I have never owned dehumidifier before, but it has been so humid and our house has a musty smell so after some research we settled on this one. We placed this in a central part of our house and I like it that it has the humidity percent stated on the machine. The water collector is easy to empty- it collects water so I know it is working! All in all we are pretty satisfied with this.

Short version of review: I would rate this unit as zero stars (or negative stars) if that was a choice, even one star is too much but I will give it 2 stars because if quiet you need, it is quiet you get instead of actual usefulness of removing moisture. Long version of review below the published specs.. This unit is based on solid state devices which are know a TEC or Peltier devices. Add DC voltage and one side gets hot and the other side gets cold. Brand: Amzart Manufacturer published Specifications: Dehumidifier effectively reduces the air humidity below 45%RH and collects 50 ounces of excess moisture per day (tested at 86°F, 80% RH). Floor area: 980 Square Feet Special Feature:Automatic Shutoff Capacity: 118 Fluid Ounces Tank Volume: 118 Fluid Ounces Product Dimensions: 9.6"D x 14.88"W x 7.28"H Recommended Uses For Product: For home Included Components: instruction manual Model Name: K1 Wattage: 90 watts Real life observations (IE Long version of review): Measured Electrical draw: 1A at 120V which is 120W Tank volume: Nine 8 Oz cups worth = 72 Oz or 4.5 pints Hot side of TEC heatsink temp after 24hrs: 87F Cold side of TEC heatsink temp after 24hrs: Unmeasurable, no access unless you open unit. Noise level: Didn't measure, but it does not have a compressor so only fan noise could be heard Humidity read out: Yes Humidistat control: NO Power cord length: 4 FT Test conditions: Basement size: 865 Square feet Basement Temp: 70 F Basement humidity at start of test: 47% Basement humidity at end of the test: 65% Test results: In 24 hrs the best this unit could do was 6 Oz/day of moisture collection which falls well short of the manufacturer claims on Amazon of 50 Oz/day, even the included manual states only 26 Oz/day (-4 stars for lack of moisture capture) My thoughts: When compared to a compressor unit for moisture removal there is no comparison, as a compressor version of 30 pints or more will easily extract 400 oz/day or equivalent to 25 pints or more per day. Manufacturers of these non compressor units are greatly way overstating their specifications. For example, the manufacturer states this unit is capable of 50 Oz per day but yet the manual that is included in with the unit actually states the capacity is 26.45 Oz per day (see my included photos) and this unit falls extremely short of the 26.45 oz per day in my testing. (another -5 stars for way over stating performance) Another draw back to this unit, no humdistat on/off control! (another -2 stars for lack of humidistat control) Had this unit performed well, having a humidistat controlling the on/off operation is critical. Too dry and electrostatic discharge becomes an issue and dust also can get airborn much easier. Always running even when humidity is low just plain wastes electricity. This unit would only be marginally effective for a closet space or less.. Not the 800-1000 square feet as rated by the manufacturer. 4 Ft power cord? What are we, Kindergarten kids? How about including a normal standard length of 6 Ft power cord.. (-2 stars for short cord) Actual tank capacity over stated! Absolutely no way 118 Oz is going to fit in that tank.. (-3 stars for misleading tank size) Higher measured power draw than stated on the label? (-5 stars for that as that wouldn't fly for being "UL" or "CSA" rated as they take great offense to misleading or mislabeling electrical ratings) Technical/nerd/geek info: TEC devices tend to only be able to give about 30F temp difference between hot and cold side. Measuring a temp of 87F on the hot side would mean the cold side is only about 57F, basically not cold enough to draw much if any moisture from the air when ambient air is not warm enough. Hot side heat sink could be too small and/or the fan is not moving enough air. With all that said, TEC or Peltier devices do come in a variety of wattages and efficiencies. I suspect the versions used in this unit may be the cheaper and less efficient TEC1-12703 versions which are 36W units x2, plus the fan and power supply draw which gave me the measured draw of 120W. I think the idea could work and work well but manufacturers need to step up their game and use much better and higher efficiency TEC1-12715 devices which are rated around 180W per device, which should translate into more cold capacity on the cold side and more heat capacity on the hot side. Sad to say, have ordered yet another compressor based dehumidifier and returning this unit to Amazon for refund. Might have to DIY my own TEC based unit using one of the dead compressor units I have laying around with higher wattage TECs.
