    • Perfect Solution, Works Well
As soon as I saw this light, I realized I had been needing one for years without even knowing such a product existed. We have a 10x14 foot garden/storage shed that has always been too dark for easy use. Lighting it had always been an impossibility since there was no AC outlet nearby, and battery lights are often dead when needed for such an occasional use. Solar-charged rechargeable to the rescue! This light seems to be well made, with a heavy-duty cable from the solar panel to the light. There was plenty of cable length at 16', and the connection to the light appears very well sealed with a screw-together coupling. The only glitch was where the cable leaves the solar panel at the mount point there was a bit too much black sealant applied, which interfered with assembling the mount. Luckily the sealing goo was fairly pliable, and I was able to push it down enough to engage the pivot bolt into the mount. Although there are five modes to the motion sensor, my needs were basic. The motion sensor seems very responsive and claims a 360 degree sensing angle. Day or night, it comes on when I enter the shed, and remains on until about 40 seconds after I leave. There is also a timer function with 2/4/6 hour options, as well as 4 levels of brightness. Speaking of brightness, I would say it is adequate for our 10x14 shed, but brighter would be better, therefore the 4 Stars. I'm sure it will be a big help in finding things, as well as keeping the shed neat and organized. I am very happy to have it! ... show more

    • Bright solar pendant great for sheds etc.
This unit comes with the pendant light, a nice solar panel with a plastic bracket, and a remote! The panel is nicely made. The bracket is easily indexable to several angles to aim the right direction. Hardware is included. A nice long cord with an interesting barrel connector. The pendant works without the panel attached. It was charged when I received it, and surprised me by shining right in my face! Plenty bright for a shed or garden area. The LEDs are installed on six modules. One of my modules has a loose connection. Even with only five working, there's good light. If you tap the pendant in just the right way, the sixth comes on. The six modes are accessible with or without the remote. Daylight and motion sensing seem to work great! I like the mode where it's dim all night, and gets bright for 15 seconds with motion. This light produces a fairly good amount of light, but I expected more considering the number of LEDs. It's more than enough to light up a shed or a gazebo. It managed to last all night in the dim mode all night long. Since the battery is inside the light itself, you can temporarily disconnect the light from the solar panel and use it as a flashlight in "always on" mode, you can not use other modes when not plugged in. I started to write this review the day before New Yearโ€™s Eve, just as a big storm moved into Northern California. I planned to use this for my carport but after we lost power due to some downed trees, I decided to try it out in our living room/dining room. It worked like a charm! I charged it briefly earlier in the day using the solar panel and it worked well throughout the night on only a partial charge! The back side of the light comes with a built in hook, and the cord to the solar panel is lengthy, allowing you to place the panel quite a distance from the light. The remote is awesome! It allows you not only to turn on and off the light but to also adjust its brightness. The lamp Has four brightness settings: 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. It has 3 night modes and two day modes that allow for varying degrees of brightness and motion activated or all on settings. For context my living/dining room is 16x25 and provided enough light to see by throughout the space. Maybe not bright enough to read by but I am not certain how much is was able to charge before its first use. It also has a motion feature and an all on feature with a 2/4/6 hour timer so you can use it during daylight hours as well. The dusk to dawn feature provides for automatic lighting as soon as the sun sets and it is also waterproof so you can use it for patios or under arbors. The connection between the solar panel cord and light cable is threaded, allowing for a secure and waterproof fit. So many applications and the remote is one of the features that sets it apart from other similar lights. I canโ€™t wait to try it outdoors, Iโ€™m sure it will work great for camping trips as well!
