    • Make sure you can get it high enough off the floor

Overall this is a nice bag, but there are some things to be aware of. First off it takes a lot to fill it up so be prepared to spend some time doing that. I made the mistake of putting bags of sand throughout the bag which adds plenty of weight, but makes it very difficult to know what resistance you will get when striking. Some areas of mine were fairly soft, but others where the sand had shifted were like hitting concrete. It also should be noted that the bag will stretch out as it hangs. I initially hung the bag and it was about 1" off the floor. The next evening the bag was touching the floor. This was due to the nylon straps stretching and the weight pulling down on the bag. I would very much recommend that you allow at least 1' of clearance above the floor when selecting your hanger location. I can't go any higher with mine so I have ordered a 5' bag in place of the 6'. The quality of the bag is quite good--at least from what I have observed so far. It remains to be seen how the zipper and straps will hold up. It doesn't have a bottom attachment to keep the bag from swinging but you may not even need that. I think it is a good fit for daily training. After a week or more I have found it is a good idea to take the bag down and add more fill to it as the gravity will push the stuffing to the bottom causing the top to be a bit flimsy. I like firm feedback with my kicks and punches so I could tell with my high level strikes I was hitting a lot of empty space. Not a quality issue, just a tip for better use. ... show more

I purchased this to put my old bag into which one of the straps broke after almost 4 years of usage. I hung it under my covered patio so it had only occasional sun exposure and was protected from rain. unless it came down at an extreme angle. Unfortunately AS SOON AS I HUNG IT THE ZIPPER TORE OUT. I have no idea why. As a result I guess rain may on occasion get into it. Now I am considering returning it as I doubt it will last. I am changing my review because after contacting the vendor they remedied it by promising to send me a replacement bag. I do like the bag and may have just received one with a defective zipper. ... show more

I had not read the part that said it would need to be filled with rags or things so I was disappointed about that, though it was my oversight.
