This is an AWT branded, “welding machine interverter” That’s what the box says! OK then. Moving on. I’m just going to call it a TIG welder. I thought about doing a practical use video review, but I don’t wanna be judged on my welding skills or quality, or do a bunch of retakes to show a good weld. My grandfather was a master welder, my dad was a great welder. These are skills that I didn’t exactly inherit. My welds aren’t always pretty but they’re solid and they get the job done at least. That’s why they invented grinders! So what exactly can I say about this welder? Incredible! This unit really does work on 120v or 240v with the RV style adapter, it’s very light and portable, and is great for some really surprisingly clean precision welding! And here I thought that all my welds had to be sloppy! I should also mention the that the large, easily readable, display is both large and easy to read! That may sound like I’m just trying to be funny, but this is the first time I’ve not had to stop working with a welder in order to go over to look at the display. Someone may have already mentioned this, but a foot pedal would be nice, but it’s not really necessary and would only increase the price. But I will admit that would be the only thing that I would change about this unit. My other welders are old beasts, the oldest one, a Lincoln Arc welder that I inherited from my grandfather, requires a hand truck to move it around, and even my far more modern MIG welder seems really bulky in comparison to this! I think a lot of people would call us a good beginner or hobby welder, but it isn’t limited by that definition. You could get some really strong and good looking work out of this! Even I did! Go figure. Due to the ease of use and portability, this may be my go to welder for many jobs. Like I said it quite impressive! Good grief I haven’t even played with half the features this thing has yet! Quite honestly, you can’t beat the price. This is incredibly cheap in comparison to what you find out there, and that’s why I was so skeptical at the beginning. AWT proved me wrong. This is a good piece of machinery at an excellent price! Highly recommended!

AWT has done a great job making this TIG welder. It is for steel only, but that is fine for what I do. Sheet metal work is a lot easier than I thought it would be with the AWT. It can be used on 120v or 240v and comes with an RV style adapter. The machine comes with most of what you will need, except the gas. The AWT comes with a couple of nice clamps. One is great for sheet metal the other is more of a multipurpose clamp. You get cups, collets and caps. The gas hose is included. The torch is good quality. The machine is very small and portable and well made. It has tons of functions so it is very versatile. Over all, I am very impressed with this little machine. The LCD screen is bright and clear. The welder is easy to use and does a rather nice job, much better than I was expecting. A foot peddle would help, but I can make do with out at this price point. My welds aren’t prefect, but I was able to weld sheet metal with it almost as easily as my more expensive TIG welder so I think this will be my go to for portable work. It is much easier to take on the go than my other machine. If you need a TIG welder and don’t want to break the bank this is a very good unit, especially for DIY people who need a TIG welder once in a while, but don’t want it to dominate their shop/garage/etc. I bought a portable MIG welder from AWT before I got this machine and I am really impressed. I like this machine a lot.

I was very skeptical about this welder and the advertised capabilities for a couple different reasons. 1 being the low retail price and 2 being the size of the machine. And when it arrived and I unpacked the machine my skepticism grew. My skepticism was about to go away though. This machine is compact and lightweight and yet a very capable machine. Everything needed to set the machine up and begin using it was included except for a fitting to connect the shielding gas supply line to a gas regulator. This machine did far better at TIG welding than I had anticipated. The high frequency start works exceptionally well. No scratching the tungsten on the work to start the welding process. Simply set the machine to your desired settings, push the start switch on the torch and begin welding. The shielding gas will begin to flow and within seconds the power and frequency come up and with the torch correctly positioned the arc will start. The gas purge time and power and gas off timing can be user selected and saved as presets. This allows for quick setup depending on what you are welding. This machine also does high power spot welding and what is called cold or pulse welding and it does these processes very well. Although I have not used the machine extensively and I’ve not tried the arc or stick process I am very impressed with this machine thus far. The only negative thing I would say is it’s only capable of DC welding so that’s gonna rule out welding of aluminum. But machines that are capable of AC and DC processes are larger and heavier and are considerably higher in price. But with this one any steel or stainless steel can be welded with very good results. I am very happy with this machine and I think it’s ideal for any home owner or hobbyist for light to medium duty welding. Keep in mind that this welding process does require a shielding gas and even small bottles are expensive to buy and more expensive to rent.
