This clock uses a AA battery and works fine with its quartz movement. It does not produce any ticking sound, so it is very quiet. It looks like an antique. The price I paid was $9.99 at T.J. Max. The reason I did not give 5 stars is because it does not have seconds indicator. So when you put battery in, it is hard to tell if it is working. ... show more
