I have been using this for about a month now with no complaints. I will say that the water flow has to go a specific direction or it will throw the over temp error code as you are feeding the water that it has heated across the temp sensor. The flow should go in from the bottom of the unit and out the top. It should also be noted that the temp is a little off, which I’m not overly worried about. I have it set to 77 Fahrenheit. It reads 76 on the display. If it drops under 76, it will heat to 77 and settle back at 76. My tank thermometer reads 78 all the time, so the way I see it, it is doing its job at keeping the temp consistent. ... show more

    • Works well - easy to install
The fact it comes with adapters that fits 3 different size hoses, 1/2“, 5/8” & 3/4”, saves money and trouble. I can switch the heater between tanks. I’m using this on a 100 gallon freshwater tank and I was surprised that not only did it heat the tank to the correct temperature, it did it quickly. There are other similar products with different branding, but most of those are 220 volts. This one is 110 volts which works in the US. So far I’m very happy with this heater ... show more

Works like it should, temperature is not that accurate, off about 3-4 degrees 'hot'. I run a safety temp system so it never gets over 84. Should have a system to calibrate it. I run 4 temp systems and the heater is the only one that's different.

This thing never works for more than a week if I even get that time frame. It continually gives error code E-8 and my fish tanks are in my garage so they’re very susceptible to cold temperatures and I never know exactly when the heater stops working so long my fish get exposed to freezing temperatures is unknown until I discover that the stupid heater has another error! Don’t waste your money on this, also this is the second one I’ve got from them because the first had the same errors and I thought it was just a fault with that first one so I exchanged for another one and I’m experiencing the exact same issues! ... show more

Seems durable - very simple controls and setup, works great - heated 150 gallon tank for turtle to 83 deg F, quickly (turned on at night and in morning was at temperature) - easy to read and set temperature. Really like the auto shutoff feature so it doesn't burn up

    • Not Reliable After Several Months.
Best value in-line heater. Works great so far. Holds its temp well. Let’s see if it lasts. Update: no longer reliable after nine months of normal use. One day it just stopped working and was flashing an error code. After a few resets it’s now working again but is stuck at 81 and won’t t heat to 84 for my Discus. Disappointed. Service isn’t great. The lady told me it’s winter now so it’s normal for the heater to struggle!?!? I don’t think so. My room is kept at 70. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Update: Ok apparently it was set to max apon install and tank got so hot it gave off an error code that no one knows about. E-1. It works just fine now. Old message-Had this run overnight. And this morning I have an E1 error code. And there's no customer support to contact. ... show more

    • Simple to use. Allows you to take the ugly heater out of your tank if you have a cannister filter.
This readily attached to the hose on my Fluval cannister filter hose. It's simple to understand and even more simple to operate. I took out my in-tank heater which makes the tank look better and makes it safer. The price is fair also. I would definitely buy again if the need comes up again.
