  • Great headlamp for the price, it does the job.
Color: Pluto
Good alternative to those AAA battery sucker Energizer headlights. I used to use those Energizer headlights for years. Went looking for a new one and decided to try the DanForce. So far, I've had it since April of 2025 and it has been holding up good, so far. The LED's are quite bright. They do dim down a bit after it has been on for a little while, but that is normal for high powered LED's as they tend to heat up a bit. Love the swivel tilt hinge on the front. Was surprised it would tilt nearly straight down. The Energizer headlamps wouldn't tilt that far. Also the Energizer headlamp elastic bands would ALWAYS get stretched out sooo bad eventually, and then couldn't fit it on my head. So far the DanForce elastic band hasn't stretched (much). One issue I do have is unless you have the elastic band on quite firmly, the headlight will start sliding down the front of my head into my eyes. When I thought I had it set right, I'd use it for a little bit and suddenly it was sliding into my face. Will see if it stays put this time and will update this review accordingly. Battery life... well, they claim 10 hours. You won't get 10 hours out of a full charge. I decided to start timing it each time I used it, and then totaled up by the time it was at one bar left. I got just a bit over 7.5 hours worth. That was using it 10 minutes here, 30 minutes there, 15 minutes here etc. However, this last full charge each time I used it I had used it for extended periods while working on my car at night. An hour and a half here, 2 hours there. I found with heavy usage, the battery doesn't last as long. I got about 5.5 hours this last time. Perhaps the shorter periods of use allow the battery to recover a bit. And heavy usage generates more heat, so that may be the reason for the shorter life. And just for the record, that was using the second light setting with the 2 outside lights, since I do not use the focused beam. One thing I really have a gripe with... the battery recharge time. This thing takes FOREVER to charge back up! I'm talking 6 - 8 hours. Even when I'm using a proper high speed USB-C charging cable plugged into a high output USB-C port, it still takes a long time. That really sucks when I absolutely NEED to use it to finish up some work. I was tempted to dock a star off this review because of that, however this headlight has worked great so far. If you're not going to offer removable batteries, at least put a little more juice the charge speed. I don't have any other headlamps to use while I'm waiting on this one to charge. Other than that, pretty good headlamp. ... show more

  • Great Product!
Color: Pluto
The DanForce Headlamp is a great choice for anyone who needs a reliable, bright, and comfortable hands-free light. The 1080-lumen LED output provides excellent visibility, making it useful for camping, outdoor work, repairs, and hard hat use. I also like that it is USB rechargeable, which makes it convenient and helps avoid constantly replacing batteries. The adjustable zoom feature is very useful for switching between a wider light spread and a more focused beam. The red light option is another nice feature, especially for nighttime use when you do not want an overly bright white light. The headlamp feels durable, and the IPX54 rating gives added confidence when using it outdoors or in light rain. Overall, this is a well-designed, powerful, and practical headlamp. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable rechargeable headlamp for work, camping, or emergency use. ... show more

  • Keeps going after years
Color: Proxima
Quite impressive headlight, I’ve had it for years and the rechargeable battery is still good. Still shines bright, love all the settings. It has a beam that can see crazy far, floodlight for everything in front of you, flash mode (annoying) and a red light. All modes work great

  • AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF HOW TO SCREW UP A GREAT LIGHT!!!
Color: Pluto
I must change this from a 2 star as the light is really a good light. just a weak battery upgrade. I must recognise that not everyone uses this light as much as I do as an everyday work tool. It is a good light and deserves a honest review. I just wish the company would read some of the complaints and notice that the "better" battery upgrade (wink wink) is the #1 complaint and the battery upgrade is crap. Almost 8 months later on the new battery upgrade it is lasting less and less as time progresses. So in conclusion, great light but crappy battery upgrade. at least offer the 18650 battery version for the guys and girls that use them professionally or alot. NativeTexan @ Automotive Plus I have worn this model light almost every day for the last 5 years before the GREAT BATTERY UPGRADE of 2023. The version I used prior to the "Battery Pack Upgrade" has 2 rechargeable 18650 3.7V, 2200mAh lithium-ion batteries. I could run the light continuous at my shop as my main and only lighting tool for 10 to 12 hour shift with little off time. I am a vehicle and diesel shop owner, I use this light alot. I could change out batteries from the charger and continue working without interruption. NOW with the new "BATTERY UPGRADE" I find myself waiting 4 to 6 hours for a recharge without access to the >>"NEW AND IMPROVED,NO ACCESS BATTERY PACK" that does not! last 8 hours, more like 4 to 5 of crisp lighting. The previous model was brighter, lasted longer and was 18650 battery accessible. MADE FOR THE WORKING FORCE! The new version is no slouch, it has a better focal point of main light at its tightest setting, but not by very much is the only pro over the older version. INCONCLUSIONS > Here is another company that values a better bottom line rather than "QUALITY" and tries to sell it as an "UPGRADE". I used this light since Dec 9 2023 to Jan 14 2024 before writing this, so it wasn't an unbox and review, I used it hard. I will continue to use this one as a backup and take better care of my older ones, but look for another light company to buy from. It's a shame as I have a lot of local shops that I have gotten to use this light, BUTTTT...The new light is great for checking on a noise outside or going to you favorite deer stand, or DIY projects etc... just not heavy usage professionally unless you have a charge time on the bid. Thanks again DAN FORCE for screwing the PROS who help keep you in business!!!!!!!!!! Automotive Plus. ... show more

  • Not a bad light, a little heavy/bulky for me. better can be had for the price.
Color: Pluto
Edit. The company behind this headlamp is excellent and they really care about their customers and their product. They reached out offering to refund the cost which is both not necessary and way above and beyond for a semi unsatisfied customer. Look the lamp is great, it’s just not suitable for me. It’s a bit too big and heavy for my small head, and even though I have plenty of headlamps with built in batteries I prefer a headlamp that uses a high quality common battery such as an 18650 or 21700. Being able to replace the battery gives a few benefits, you can carry extra batteries and not have to worry about running out of juice or finding an outlet to charge which isn’t feasible if you’re out in the night or camping etc. you are also in control of the quality of cells as well as the capacity and discharge rating. Quality 18650s are around $4 each. I have a ton of the most common cell sizes. Original review; The lamp is dang bulky. I mean it’s not bad, but I have some concerns. It’s pretty bulky and can get uncomfortable after a while. Battery pack could get in the way if you’re lying on your back. You are at the mercy of the built in battery. Who knows the capacity, who knows if it’s a quality cell. Either way it is a lithium battery and will not last forever. Also the adjustable angle is 90 degrees which is fine, until you start to compare headlamps and see many are 180 degrees. Not a huge deal, just something to note. Look I was in the infantry for 10 years and I know and have relied on headlamps. Back then it was petzl no ifs and or buts. I still have a petzl that has dirt embedded in it from Afghanistan that’s over 15 years old and still works. It’s tech is now outdated, and pretty dim by today’s standards, but great for inconspicuous red light to do things close up like read a map (that’s why no red is used on military maps, you won’t see it with red light. ) anyway bright in a combat zone isn’t exactly what you want so I guess it’s perfect, but boy it sucks trying to use it to get things done when I need light. So I don’t use it. Cheap headlamps are way brighter nowadays, durability aside. I always keep multiple headlamps around as well as high quality flashlights, but I much prefer a headlamp for obvious reasons. Nowadays there are other high end quality headlamps besides petzl such as nitecore, Coast, and quite a few others I’m not too familiar with. Ok sorry about the tangent. So comparing this lamp to the tons that have copied the style of the nitecore h30, h33 and that’s where you see it’s not that great. First off this is very big and bulky, the h30/h33 copies are very small and light, just a tiny cylinder slightly bigger than an 18650 battery. Second, and this is important, they take 18650 batteries and that’s invaluable because that is where a headlamp will eventually fail. You Also can’t be sure of the quality of a built in cell, and finally you can easily carry two spares in a case that’s about 1/3 the size of a pack of cigarettes (no I don’t smoke). Also you can decide the brand and capacity battery you want. Or if you don’t want to bother with batteries they all come with one battery and the ability to charge via cable, so it will function no differently than this headlamp as far as that goes. But know if you want spares or a higher capacity battery or you just need to replace the original it cost about $3-4 for a good name brand 18650 battery (Sony, Panasonic, molicel, Sanyo, etc). I have tons of 18650s and chargers. Next point is Angle adjustment. Those styles I’m comparing to have 180 degree rotation, is it necessary? maybe in some situations, but maybe not. Nice to have it. Next you can remove the headlamp from the strap easily to clip it on yourself or mount magnetically because it’s magnetic. Also the ones i bought are super bright. Like really bright, probably not as bright as the nitecore they get their designs from, but less than a third of the cost. Finally they are cheaper than this headlamp and with all the other factors, most important being illumination (very bright with good beam angle and far throw), next removable high quality cells, 3rd being very light weight and small, the adjustability, and versatility, and finally price. RIt’s just unmatched. I paid $25 for the nitecore Lookalikes and $29 for this, not a huge difference until you consider the facts I just laid out. Oh and bonus is having memory so when you turn it on it goes to the last function you used and you don’t have to cycle through them every time you use the light. I will say this light is bright with a great cast and excellent red light as well. My gripes with this light are mainly personal due to personal preferences so don’t knock this great light just because it’s not a good fit for me. ... show more

  • Sturdy and well built
Color: Neptune
I have two of these head lamps that I purchased in November of 2023 and let me tell you these have held up like nothing I have ever seen before. I have tried about four different brands which required replacement batteries which after recharging so many times they would no longer hold a charge and the batteries cost almost as much as the head lamp itself, so I decided to try the Dan Force headlamp and I’m so glad I did. I use these every night at my horse pasture and they still hold a charge for up to around 5 to 6 hours. And as for durability they are tuff. I often forget how far they extend from head and will lean into a wall and hit it, which I wouldn’t recommend because it really hurts and thought for sure that I had loosened the adjustment but surprisingly it didn’t. My barn has a double door on it and a lot of times I will only open the bottom door and duck under the top one. One night I forgot the top door wasn’t open and in a hurry walked full strut into the the top door hitting my head lamp so hard it cut the bridge of my nose when it folded down from the force. I thought for sure this time I had broken it, but that was over six months ago and it still works great. Mine do take quite a long time to charge fully though at least five to six hours but I run the batteries all the way down so I just charge them overnight and since I have two I almost always have a charge one ready to go. As far as brightness goes, they are outstanding. They don’t even begin to loose brightness until the batteries are down to the last little blue lite on the battery pack which I stated earlier is at least five hours. So “yes” I would highly recommend these headlamps they are a great value , extremely durable and I almost forgot to mention very comfortable. I have mine on for hour’s almost every night. Great product. Absolutely love them Update: February 26, 2025 One of my headlamps just died yesterday. I think maybe it got turned on while it was in my bag of clothes and I didn’t know it and the battery got completely drained. But also I do believe that this is the one that I hit with my barn door so that really doesn’t surprise me and that happened months ago. My other one is going strong after fifteen months of being used every day even in the rain. I just try not to let it get too wet and then dry it asap. So I will now order another one, but I really think that hitting it is why it isn’t working. It got hit really hard and it really hurt. Still my favorite headlamps ever. ... show more
