I first bought PVC vertical blinds from a big box store, and within two years of direct sunlight they were brittle, cracked, and barely functioning. More “sunlight distractors” than blinds. I knew better, since I had secondhand blinds from another well-known brand that lasted far longer, so I recognized the quality gap. Enter Dalix. I did the math and realized that by cutting these long slats down, I could get two or three replacements out of each one. A simple jig and a hot screwdriver made the slots, and with a paper shear the cuts were clean. After a very hot Southern California summer, I’m impressed. These blinds hold up beautifully. They clean easily, stay on their mounts, haven’t cracked despite my pets’ best efforts, and resist the sun’s attempts to turn my house into an oven. They also block far more light than the cheap ones from the big box store. It took some effort to trim and fit them, but the end result is exactly what I wanted.     • A Cheap Solution To A Common Problem
It is unfortunately too common to have the mounting tabs tear away on vertical blinds. This is an affordable solution to that problem. I was able to trim and reinstall broken louvers with ease. Much better than having to toss out everything and start again. Color match is pretty close but obviously not guaranteed. They also sell adhesive repair tabs to repair your existing louvers but I felt they were too far gone to do anything about it. ... show more
