Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Dagway e-scooter is praised by these reviewers for its speed and smooth riding experience. It's been called "a great scooter for the money" with powerful, comfortable performance. However, it has also experienced some issues such as heaviness, tricky portability, and immediate troubles with certain parts like the fender and rear inner tubes.

Pros

  • 🚀 High top speed and quick acceleration
  • 🌟 Smooth and comfortable ride, even on bumpy surfaces
  • 💰 Cost-effective for daily commuting
  • ⚡ Decent battery life allowing for long trips

Cons

  • 💪 Scooter is quite heavy, making it difficult for some users to carry
  • 🔄 Folding and unfolding can be challenging
  • 🔧 Some parts, particularly the fender and rear inner tubes, have shown immediate failure
  • 📄Translated instruction manual is reportedly hard to understand

Should I Buy It?

If speed, comfort, and cost-effectiveness are high on your list, and you don't mind a heavier e-scooter, the Dagway could be a great fit. However, it may require maintenance and mechanical work, so it might not be ideal if you prefer a low-maintenance and portable option.

  • Overall, a great scooter for the money!
Color: Black
A little background about me so you know where my review is coming from. So, I already have a different e-scooter that's much lighter, much more commutable, been using it for a year now to get to and from work, I have over 1,000 miles on that one, but I wanted to get a second, more powerful and more comfortable scooter so that I'm not left without in the event of a break down, which I had a lot of through the past year! So, I set my eyes on this one! During my commute, I drive over a lot of bumpy surfaces, and I have to ride a total of around 5 miles each way. In that commute I also ride the train which is at elevated tracks near home, then underground near my job, then my job is on the 3rd floor with no elevator. So, going into work I have to climb a lot of stairs and ride a train with this thing in my hand, then it's the reverse going home. I say all that to say, I'm a decent sized and built guy at 210lbs and enough muscle to get things done... THIS SCOOTER IS HEAVY!!! I think it says it's around 50 lbs or so on here, you feel every bit of that! I've only had the scooter less than a week now and only got the opportunity to do my normal commute one time there and back. I think I can get used to it after a while of doing this daily, but if you need to carry this scooter anywhere and heavy lifting is not your forte, don't even bother buying this thing. I suspect most people who buy this scooter will just leave it unfolded and use it when they want to use it, never carrying it, despite it being rather easy to fold and unfold. For me though, the ride is absolutely worth it!!! My other scooter has no suspension and a top speed of 19 mph. This one's lowest speed is 20 mph!!! The suspension feels like I'm riding a Cadillac! Absolutely impressed with this scooter! Spinning the back wheel without a load at top speed and top charge, the speedometer hit's 35 mph. With my 210 lbs riding on it on level ground and wind resistance, it seems I top out at about 27-28 mph which is PLENTY FAST!!! You ever drive a car entirely too fast on an empty expressway, say 100+ mph? That's how this thing feels at top speed on an empty trail path. Stable... but like one false move could end badly, so unless you're familiar with riding e-scooters, I do not recommend riding this as your first scooter experience, no way, no how! The throttle response is a lot more sensitive than my other scooter, the moment I push my finger slightly on the throttle this scooter practically jolts forward. Slower scooters will ease into the throttle just as easily as you press it. Not this one, you have to be practically just breathing on it to get it to accelerate softly, this scooter wants to GO!!! Build quality, overall, pretty good, however, right out of the box, almost all of the red decals that cover hidden bolts on mine are peeling away, I tried to stick them back but the exposure to the air for however long it's been and dirt and stuff has made them un-stickable, and they're stiff so they really want to curl outward. I'll apply my own adhesive of some sort eventually to keep them down but that's most of why I docked a star here. Also, learning from my previous scooter, I looked around for places where water could potentially get into the battery so that I could seal it off in the event I have to ride in the rain. It says not to in the owners manual, so I wouldn't recommend it either, but I feel that if I shield the electronics from water entry, it should be fine in all honesty. Found a place behind the front cover where wires go in, the manufacturer tried to seal it with some stuff that's now hardened into white plastic. I was able to easily remove it with my fingers in one ugly piece. I've sealed it better with some waterproof silicone gel and a few weld points that had some gaps as well. I plan to go over it entirely and look for anymore gaps and holes, might even just remove the battery and seal it's casing up from the inside, so I know it's protected. One key thing I really needed to know was if cruise control worked on this thing, and every comment I came across said the instructions weren't clear and they can't figure out how to activate it. The instructions are in what appears to be translated English, so it's a bit muddy, but I understand it as saying that after you power it on, hold one of the brakes and press the throttle 3 times, this will turn on/off cruise control. Know that doing this does not activate cruise right then and there, it's like the cruise on/off button in your car except with no indication that it's been turned on. How it works is after you do that little song and dance, go for a ride. After holding the throttle down full and steady for some time you'll notice the cruise icon show up in the display, at this point it is "set" and you can let go of the throttle and it will continue at the set throttle until you cancel it by pressing the throttle or the brake. Note: I did not have to do the activation technique to activate my cruise control, mine just worked right out of the box, but I did understand the instructions and I don't want to turn mine off as this same action turns it off (the power on, brake, throttle 3 times thing). Would be nice if this scooter gave some sort of confirmation for your actions but be warned, there are none for any of the settings and actions. Zero-start (which I did have to activate) you turn this on and off by starting the scooter, within the first 5 seconds, press the button. This will turn zero start on/off depending what you left it at last time you turned it off. They say it resets after every startup but mine seems to remember my last setting every time I power it on to ride. Hope this helps, I'll add more as my ownership experience progresses. UPDATE 1: I tried to do my daily commute for an entire week to see if I could without charging it once. My commute by scooter is a total of about 10 miles a day, M-F. It is Wednesday, my dudes, and the scooter started hesitating about 1 mile from the office in the morning before periodically throwing an E-5 error code and killing power to the wheels. I drive a car on Monday mornings so that's -5 miles, so that's about 20 miles total before it went caput. Granted, I was riding at top speed daily, with frequent stops and go's, perhaps this would be different if I kept it in ECO the whole time. I'll be driving home and recharging it overnight, hopefully it's not actually anything wrong with it, just a low battery. Just letting you know, I think that 54-mile range is reserved for ECO mode, downhill, with a back draft, and a light-weight rider at a constant speed, straight hyper-mileing it. UPDATE 2: So, I did like I said and went into the battery compartment to seal up anywhere there might be a gap from the inside, all the wire-entries, all the weld points, and even the cover itself. I did discover a droplet of water in there too, so I'm glad I did this. That task went smoothly and confidently, however, while I was putting everything back together I notice a grey wire that was disconnected... I thought that was strange, I didn't disconnect anything during my process, but figured maybe I jostled something loose and should just put it back, no wires should be separated right? Sealed it all up, proud of my accomplishment, turned it on, everything seems to work, left it alone to dry for a few days over the weekend. Decided to go for a joy ride, it would bog down over 20 mph and ride slowly... like 15 mph tops, like there was a power limiter, and this is on the highest speed setting! Unsure how I messed things up, I had to think long and hard what I might've done wrong. Only thing that comes to mind is that grey wire I connected that I know I never disconnected. So, I went back in there and disconnected it, powered it on while it's still partially apart, cleared obstructions from the rear wheel and ran it, it ran like normal! 35mph, as it should. I plug the wire up, bogged way down, unplugged it, back up to 35mph. This seems to be a child mode feature if I had to guess... but oddly it's only accessible through the battery compartment... weird, but just figured I'd let you know potential buyers know if you intend to own and self-maintain this. This is not even remotely mentioned in the owners manual. ... show more

  • Heavy duty
I’ve been riding this scooter everywhere for like a month now. I use it for my commutes, and it has never let me down. Rides fast, and smooth. Does well going uphill and goes very fast coming down hill. I have never run out of battery. But I also leave it in the charger all night. I am about 210lbs so it is impressive how fast this scooter can go even with my weight and uphill. However, I believe it would go faster if I was less heavy. Between parking fees and had prices, this scooter has saved me a lot of money. Definitely worth it. The only complaint I have, is that it is not as “portable” as they claim it to be. I mean I might be weak but that thing is heavy to lift and hard to fold. For the most part I have to secure it with a chain because carrying it with me to my classroom and my office will not work because of it's weight. Since it is not portable it would be great if they included a security chain to it like some other scooters to make it easier to secure. I took one star off because I the false advertising of a “portable” scooter, but it has definitely meet my expectations ;) ... show more

  • Amazing scooter.. except Fender and rear inner tubes...
Color: Black
The media could not be loaded. I've had this scooter since April 16 it is now june 1st... Overall it's a great scooter but within the 2nd week of having it the rear inner tube popped, so I swapped it with the extra inner tube included and pumped to 50 psi.. A week later and that also popped. So I went with aftermarket tubes. Recently though a whole new issue has come up, which is the fender. So the fender screws have this plastic piece under each screw for some reason which keeps each screw in place. Every screw I have is tightly screwed in but yet it doesn't matter because all of the plastic supports under each screw have broken off with regular use, making the fender loose even with the screws in place. The fender is so loose that it scraped against the tire and makes it impossible to pull the scooter backwards if needed, so I had to tape it. I would really love to change my review if the company is willing to reach out to me and either replace the scooter or fix the fender. The fender is a very necessary part of the scooter. I'm outside of Amazons return policy sadly. Please help me out dagway :/ ... show more

The scooter does exactly what it says it does but this is where I had a hard time with the homework Dagway people don't have a direct phone number ? I took their address reversed it and no numbe .they don't have replacements parts . I'm on day 7 waiting for them to return message or call. but there is a lot of universal parts, already ordered parts and I'm going to just start shade tree mechanicing replacing parts until it runs in the meantime chase down wire lines to make sure they're not getting chafed and cut into and grounding this is quite fun having a exquisite customer service team for the best scooter in the world it is pretty fun need some upgrades you need to carry their word a little better Otherwise this scooter does have a good range if you keep it under 10 mph you'll get about 50 miles out of a charge which will get you a couple days of City time also the locking mechanism where the scooter fold needs a little bit more robust clevis pin something it starts to wiggle loose fell apart garbage had to make it safe on my own I'm going 30 miles an hour you don't want that pop in ... show more
