Unzipped the lining and slid them under the thinner board. So much stronger. Kinda weird they would skimp on something so important to be able to handle that amount of weight as advertised. The carrier itself is fine, but the so called rigid bottom is a joke. They cheaped out on this. I'm going to keep it, but I'm going to have to fit a piece of wood in the bottom pocket. I emailed customer service about this and they never got back to me. The card says: "just send us an email and we'll reply in 24 hours and try to do our best to make you satisfied". Well, I'm not satisfied! UPDATE: I am raising my rating to 5 stars because of the excellent customer service I received. I recently got both of my cats fixed and needed two carriers. These were good quality for the price. After we brought my cats home one of them actually peed in the carrier before we could get him out. It was pretty easy to clean the insert cover. I do wish the cover was a bit more waterproof because the pee soaked into the wood that the insert goes around, so it took a little more effort to get that clean. but over all it gets the job done for getting your furry friend to and from. ... show more

The interior is very roomy. The bottom has a removable fleece cover. We went on a vet visit and also had to run some errands. It was way too hot to leave him in the car, so I just slung the carrier on my shoulder and we went in auto parts store and drug store, no problem. I'm sure most people didn't even notice, although the carrier is not small. I think most people understand about the heat. Apologies to anyone with cat allergies. It was easy to carry - weighs less than my "mom purse!" Easy to get your pet in or out. Comfort layer at the bottom and firm so they remain stable. I had never had a carrier like this, just the hard ones. I much prefer this and I think it's more comfortable for my pet. Fyi it's a small size. If you have a pet over 14 lbs. Get a bigger carrier.
