We were unexpectedly evacuated from our home because of a wildfire and suddenly had to make a two-hour drive with our fur babies. That experience made me realize we needed something better for longer car rides that would still work for regular trips to the vet. I found these carriers, and I’m SO glad I did! We live in a tiny home, so space is always at a premium. These fold up surprisingly compact, but when opened, they are incredibly roomy. For longer trips, you can connect them together to make one long carrier that fits across the back seat and is even large enough to accommodate a travel litter box. You can also belt them together side-by-side, and they fit perfectly in the trunk area of my Subaru Forester. In a pinch, both of our cats could comfortably fit in one carrier for a trip to the vet. I also really love the ventilation and visibility. The cats can see out from almost 360 degrees, plus there’s visibility from the top. They have both handles and shoulder straps, which makes carrying them much easier. My only hesitation is that I’m not sure how well the fabric would hold up with cats who aggressively claw or chew their carriers. Mine don’t do that, so it isn’t an issue for us, but it’s something to consider if you have an escape artist! Other than that, these are exactly what I didn’t know I needed until I suddenly needed them. They’ve given me a much better option for both emergency evacuations and everyday travel with our cats, without taking up a ton of storage space. Very happy with this purchase! ... show more

I purchased this for a 4 hour car trip needed to take my cat to see an oncologist in another town. I wanted her to have a spacious enclosure with access to litter and food/water. She normally cries and tries to escape the carrier we typically use for our 20 min trips to see the specialist in town. For that reason, I wanted something that she could be uncomfortable in. This carrier was a fantastic choice. It was relatively easy to put together, although the instructions are a little lacking. She was comfortable for the whole two hour trip to and two hour trip back from the oncologist and only cried once. She was comfortable and actually used the litter box while in the carrier. I ordered the two carrier option and it is two carriers that can be clicked together end to end. The ends of the carrier unzip so all you have to do is unzip the two ends that are butted against each other and then connect them via the clips. The clips have adjustable straps so you can tighten it so there are no gaps. The nice thing was once we got to the university veterinary hospital, we were able to unclip the two carriers from one another and then use the carrier that did not have the litter box as the carrier to take her inside the hospital. That was very convenient. The carrier came with a foldable litter box and a collapsible water and food dish. It also comes with a soft padding in each of the carriers. I felt they were not thick enough, so I added a thick flat cat bed that I had purchased for her awhile ago and it fit perfectly inside the carrier. I put it in the one carrier that did not have the litter box so she could have something to lay on. One thing I would recommend is purchasing a liner to line your litter box with. Even though it looks like it is made of some sort of waterproof material I think it might absorb the smell of urine and I did not want to risk having a reusable litter box that smells like cat urine while inside a car on long trips. I bought liners to use and it worked perfectly. One thing I would recommend for the manufacturer is better instructions. There were no instructions on how to secure the carriers to the car seatbelts and so we just ended up strapping the seatbelts through the handles on each side. Although it’s not meant to be used that way, it worked fine. There were also several extra adjustable straps that I don’t really know what they are for, but it didn’t affect the use of the carriers at all. I waited to leave this review until after my 900 mile road trip to bring my daughter's cat to her new home in SC. I can't say yet how it would hold up over time, but this carrier is hefty and well designed. The two sides hook together easily and they have lots of access points for getting your animal in or out, and refreshing food/water, or administering medication. Tons of room for a traveling cat! The two sides reached nearly to capacity of the width of my back seat. I was able to fit food/water bowls, a larger (stainless steel) litter pan than the one included, and still plenty of room for him to move around. Note, the litter pan provided had a strong smell that I didn't want my daughter's cat to have to inhale the whole 12+ hr ride. No biggie, this carrier was worth it even though I didn't use the included pan. The carrier itself had no more odor than something new that is made of cloth. Maybe those complaints were of the litter pan included? The canvas and screens are heavy and good quality. As with other reviews, I felt the zippers should have been better quality, especially at this price point and for the safety of your animals inside. One zipper seemed to have a slight kink if it wasn't zipped from the correct side. If not zipped from the correct side, it could have been pushed open by an overzealous animal. It did have me concerned for the overall strength and quality of them. But they did just fine fit this trip. My daughter actually asked if she could keep one (or both) since they were of much greater quality than her current one. Of course she got to keep them. ;-) And I did warn her about the zippers. Overall, I'm very pleased, and so is my daughter!! ... show more

Highly recommend!

I love this crate and would highly recommend. I have a pomeranian that is recovering from surgery and needed him to be confined , but needed him next to me during the night to be able to monitor him. It was not too big to sit on my bed but big enough that It was the perfect size for him to lay down with his feet stretched out in front of him, he is able to sit up and turn around very easily. It is soft sided with mesh on all sides and on top. The top, one end and one side all unzip so it gives him great air flow through the night and that is with only the top and one end open so he can't get out. I would like it if they had seat belt loops on the back of it, instead on on the side (or in both places depending on the vehicle) They have them on one end but the crate is too long to sit that way and be buckled in my car. If it had it on the back, it fits nicely in the seat and could be buckled in. The other thing is, I wish both ends unzipped but all in all he does not mind being in it, and he is not crate trained, so that is a huge plus in my book. I was very pleasantly surprised by this carrier. I needed to take a cat 3+ hours away to see a specialist vet and this carrier ensured that my kitty was well pampered on the way there and back. I have a small 4-door sedan and the 48” width fit perfectly in the backseat. I do recommend buying a small plastic tote to use as a litterbox though - the one they include with the carrier is not sturdy enough and too floppy for my liking. The two sides disconnect fairly easily to carry in one half into the vet office. The large front zippered mesh door makes access easy. The zippers could be more heavy duty, but with a slightly sedated cat they did fine. Tip: attach puppy pads (i stitched them in with needle and thread) to the inside walls and floor in case your kitty misses the edge while using the box in a moving car. ... show more

these cat carriers are great if you have multiple, or LARGE cats, or small dogs. The ability to connect them together is good so your cats will have plenty of space to move around or stretch out. You can also keep their litter box and food/water bowls insie and still have room to move around. Each unit has 3 opening sides, both ends and the one long side. They clip together end to end as shown in the photo, and you can continue to add on as many as you need. HOWEVER, they do not stack or clip on widthwise, so you can only continue a long train and not create a multi-layer or wider configuration. That is an oversight on the designer's part, as if you need to have more than 2, it would be great to stack them to save floor space. The carriers fold down fairly easily, unlike some of the model out there that really take some effort to expand or collapse, HOWEVER, they do not fold down very small. Even folded down they are sizeable. Both pieces folded down and stacked on top of each other are just shy of being as tall as one expanded out. The material is durable and they come with a removable padded bottom piece. The problem here is the litter box and food / water bowls. The litter box DOES NOT have a lid or closeable top, it is just a 'tub', so it is difficult to move it and it does not make for a neatly portable pan. The food and water bowls are collapsible silicone, and they're cone shaped with a very narrow bottom and much wider top, which just BEGS to be tipped over just be whispering the words 'tip over' in their general direction. Probably ok for dry kibble, but for water you are going to want something else. Overall they are great carriers, and it's really nice to be able to give your pet extra room if you need to keep them in there for a while. Just be aware of the minor nuisances. PS - leave these carriers assembled in your home when they are not in use, so that your pet can become comfortable with them under normal, non-stressful conditions. Your pet will get them smelling like themselves so it will become a comfortable environment. That will make it a LOT easier on them and you when you need to use them for travel. Also, we always have the rule that if the pet chooses to go into the carrier on their own at home, we leave them alone and let them feel that is a safe, quiet place that they will not be bothered or stressed out. Do not grab the pet and pull them out of the carrier, allow them to come out on their own, maybe for treats or food. It really makes a big difference in their calm attitude when the travel is more stressful. ... show more

I’m very happy with this cat carrier! The shelter recommended it to me, and it has been a great choice. It’s made of sturdy fabric, has plenty of room, and is large enough for my cat to be comfortable without feeling cramped. I especially like how stable and well-structured it is, even though it’s made of soft material. The ventilation is also excellent, with plenty of breathable mesh areas to keep my cat comfortable during longer trips. The quality feels much better than I expected, and the overall design is practical and easy to use. I feel very comfortable using it for traveling and vet visits. Perfect for my cats safety!

SO easy to use and my cats love it so much for than their old small one. They feel comfortable and can be on all four legs standing, which I think helps make them not feel claustrophobic.
