    • Great all-in-one system.
I've had the system for one month and I love it so far. I haven't went as far as renting a par meter to verify brightness but the corals seem to be responding well to the system. The lights themselves are very sleek (some lights are very bulky) and silent (other lights have active cooling that causes noise). The power cables for the lights and the power injectors are plenty long. Although the thermostat cable is a little short (you will probably want to buy a USB extender). I love the Loop system. There are a lot of considerate details included like the feeding setting and random weather effects. For greater security one press of the button on the Loop controller (blue to green) will put it into single device mode where only one phone can control the device. The app itself is adequate; you just have to remember to return the app back to schedule mode and exit all the way back to the first screen each time you use it. I haven't tried the sounds settings because I lack the appropriate speaker. The extender feet are a little cheap. Although they haven't failed me I'd like to see something a little bit more substantial. I had to take a star off because the first unit arrived with broken connector collar. Instead of rushing back to Prime for a replacement I attempted to contact Current customer service. Their "fastest" support option was 404. I tried another support option but there was no one to take my call. I then waded through their website for a contact page which started a string of automated responses. I'm currently somewhere in my 614th hour of the 24hr wait time for their customer service response. I eventually replaced the defective light via Prime (thanks Amazon). ... show more

    • This is a great light
This is a great light. The corals love it and the built in timer is spectacular. The lights make my corals pop with color and they seen to really like it. The Bluetooth controller is nice but has a few problems with the instructions not being very well written. It is a little difficult to connect and looses it connections every so often. Not really a big deal if only the instructions were more complete and really explained how to fix the problem. There is not much help online to walk you thru it. After playing with it for about 2 hours, finally figured it out. The quick buttons on the program are nice, but they could have left off the music and just had the wave and thunder/lightning sounds. I also bought the brackets for the lights, but having a rim aquarium, they did not work well at all. I am still having to work on fixing that. The bracket screws where it connects to the aquarium is right at the rim and needs to be about 1/4 inch lower and it should have also included spacers between the screws and the glass to give it more support without worrying about breaking the glass. This would also give it more support. I am taking these to a machine shop to fix that. But overall, the lights are great and work like they are supposed to and am really satisfied. Like anything on and aquarium, it is a hobby and we work thru what doesn't work. ... show more

Amazing for the price! Works exactly as described, our tank has never looked better! Update 2/2019: It has been over a month. I think the thing I regret most is buying the bluetooth version. I thought for sure that would make my life easier-not having to search for a misplaced remote, etc. Well, after lots of issues, we discovered it cant be used with more than one device. This means that if I'm at work, my husband can't change the lighting or vice versa without throwing the whole system off, even though we keep our "schedule" set to the exact same times, tank named the same thing, etc to keep it as consistent as possible. So he keeps his bluetooth off all the time and deleted the app. This seemed to fix the syncing issues until yesterday. I fell asleep on the couch around 630pm. Around 3am I woke up and guess what? Tank was still on full daylight. I had to manually go in and turn the lights off. Same thing happened tonight. Even though I sat here for 2 hours after the sun should have been good and "set," hit the resume program button, factory reset, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, repaired with the device, literally everything I could think of. It refuses to cooperate. I paid a premium for convenience and it has been nothing but a headache. Wish I had stuck with the remote controlled system. Update 5/2019: Okay, after lots of practice and adjustments, we love them. It took a lot of fine tuning but they are working great and our coral is growing. My husband completely deleted the app and we reset everything and issues are now minimal. One thing I wish they would fix-it the power fails, the light doesn't go back to the schedule without connecting to my phone. It is storm season here which means that the power fails often.
