Okay first I bought two colors: blue and copper 1. Definitely need more of the blue dye on your hair vs the copper which seems to spread more easily. So you will definitely end up using more of the blue in one dye verse the copper. 2. The blue is a lot less glittery than the copper, the copper is very glittery but I like it, it’s shiny. The blue is definitely more expensive of a matte finish. I added some keratin oil to add shine to the blue. 3. It’s dry. Sorry but it DOES make your hair dry and stiff. 4. HOWEVER, even though it’s dry and stuff you can stuff move your hair around, think a hair spray that that stuff but still nets your hair move and shift and you can pull it apart without it turning white lol 6. Once dry doesn’t transfer or smear (so far), however if you hand is damp or wet and you touch your hair forget it. So don’t wear on a rainy day if you going to be outside and you tend to forget your umbrella. I haven’t slept with it in my hair yet so we shall see how it does on a pillow 6. Curls, it does seem to help hold curls. My curls have always been a disaster but I tried diffusing with this in it and I liked the result for the most part, I need to practice with diffusing. 7. I brushed through when I used the copper it definitely transfers to the hair brush and my straightening iron 8. Adding extra when it dries is great for uneven areas and it a quick dry with the blow dryer and done 9. It takes forever to air dry and you HAVE to have a towel cause it puts dye on everything it touches. 10. Hence I switched to diffuser dry. If you just blow it, it tangled and gets VEEEEERY stiff. Gently blow dry is highly recommended Overall I give it a B+ and will buy again

I tried a few different ways. First I tried when my hair was damp and it disappeared. Then i blow dried my hair and put the product onto the dry hair but although it looked super pretty and sparkly, it got sparkly gold but every where. Might be better with a partial application instead of whole head of hair. It also could be far more beautiful on textured hair. I feel like it would show up better if the hairs had more volume and texture.

Pros first, I did notice my curls seems much more bouncy after using this product which I loved and also loved that the color did wash out easily. BUT, the amount needed to see any color is crazy, especially when the bottle is small and costs $20.00. Would I recommend it to someone else to try, probably not simply because of the price per small bottle and amount needed to make a difference. Since I did like the feel of the curls with this new product, I think I will look up other Curlsmith products, just not this one.

The styling gel part of the product is great. It really does hold without a curl cream. I was amazed at that. The Rose Gold and the Ruby took in my hair (bleached blonde). The Turquoise turned my hair gray and I looked like an old woman with it. It also was more drying than the other 2. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that the others are super thick and creamy and the turquoise was really runny. Whatever it was it was I didn't care for that. This has a lot of glitter flakes in it and they go EVERYWHERE. I had glitter everywhere on clothes for days. Even after it dried I had red transfer onto my sweater. I like the hold aspect. The Rose Gold and Ruby are good for temporary color (like today I put rose gold in again for a change from my normal blonde). The Turquoise though is not doing it for me. I don't apply to dry hair after because it's already drying enough I didn't want to add more to it and dry it out more.

How I used this on my type 4a/b hair : Shampoo and conditioned as usual. I did not use a leave in conditioner but instead spread some coconut oil in my hair. Youtube reviews for my hair type suggested that this styling gel would not hold the hair so I first used a generous amount of EcoStyler as a base in sections. Once EcoStyler was applied I rubbed a generous amount of the Curlsmith Hair Color and Styling Gel from root to tip. I instantly loved how bright it was and how it did not negatively affect the hold of the Ecostyler. On another occasion, I washed and styled as usual with KinkyCurly Knot Today Leave In and Curling Custard. I used the Curlsmith Hair Color and Styling Gel to create copper highlights in my bangs. Pro: Very vibrant and made a great temporary colour. Washed out easily. I only used half the tube on my shoulder length hair. Con: Lost its luster after 24 hours and I did not care to re-apply. It rubs off (just a little) if you touch it if styled with the kinky curly custard.

So I was scared to try real funny about my hair did it for a girls night out and everyone loved the color. So it is messy to apply and will get on your pillow case to So maybe next time I will use a old shirt. So I woke up the next after my night out so impressed my hair looked the same like I just style it and left it in one more day dang it still looks the same. Very impressed it'd pretty perfect

I already have copper hair so I was using this for a boost/to brighten it and it def worked. The one pic shows without any dye or gloss and the other shows with the product. It was kinda drying when I was putting it on which made it difficult to comb it through my hair. What bothered me most is even though it didn’t transfer to my clothes, every time I touched or moved my hair, my hands turned orange. I was cleaning them the whole day. Idk if it was the leave in I used but be wary. Also I’m sure it works great as a gel but my hair is too damaged to actually hold its curls anymore.

I tried this product in copper on my young locs (naturally black) and it showed up like a redder version of 30 braiding hair. Can be vibrant or subdued depending on how much product is applied. Washed out easily but can also stay for a long time, I’m very happy with this product and will try other colors in the future! Easy to apply and smells amazing!
