Love this thing. I bought reusable aluminum filters and paper filters that fit inside. Fresh brewed coffee without waste. It’s the perfect coffee maker. The only thing I’d like to as would be an adjustable grinder but as is it’s pretty great. The blinking lights issue discussed in these reviews is the unit indicating that it needs to be decalcified. The instructions follow: DECALCIFICATION Decalcification refers to removing the calcium deposits that form over time on the metal parts of the coffeemaker. When all the lights flash in sequence upon turning the unit on, it is time to decalcify your coffeemaker. We recommend decalcifying every month for best performance. But the frequency really depends upon the hardness of your tap water and how often you use the coffeemaker. Directions: Step 1: Vinegar Rinse • Fill water reservoir with 13 oz. of white vinegar and 26 oz. of water. • Place a mug or other container on the drip tray. • Open and close the brew head. • Press and hold the Power and 8 oz. buttons for 2 seconds to start decalcification function. • Discard contents of mug into the sink. • Repeat until Add Water light comes on. • When decalcification is complete, the Power and Grind buttons will illuminate. • Discard any remaining diluted vinegar into sink. Step 2: Fresh Water Rinse • Repeat Step 1 three times using fresh water in place of vinegar mixture. • This will clean the brewer’s plumbing and remove any residual vinegar taste. ... show more

  • Stopped working in less than one year
Color: Stainless Steel
It has too many drawbacks- messy grind, slow and messy drip. Mine is almost 1 year old and the selection buttons stop working.

Our Keurig gave out after several years of heavy use. We used a grinder for our beans and then put them into a reusable filter to make our coffee. So this coffee maker would clear up some space on our counters and keep grinding and brewing central. Here are my impressions one month in. For the sake of brevity I’ll keep comments brief. Coffee Taste: This thing makes great tasting coffee! I’ve enjoyed my coffee so much more with this maker. Quality of Build: Maker feels cheap with a lot of plastic so I am concerned about its longevity. I bought a warranty just in case. Reservoir: Only two people in our home and we find ourselves filling the reservoir often. It is much smaller than the previous Keurig we had. Grinder: This is the feature that should make this maker shine and some senses it does. Here are few insights: - The grind cannot be adjusted. However, I’ve found it to be perfect for a wonderful cup. - The motor housing comes up right in the middle of the hopper and takes up a lot of real estate. So it takes care to fill the hopper up without bouncing beans off of the motor housing onto the counter. - The amount of coffee ground is pre-determined with one touch but you can stop and start the grind with another push of the grind button if you wish to. It can be messy. Grounds do ‘jump’ out at times during the grinding. At times the amount of ground coffee is higher than the brim of the filter and it gets scraped off when removing the filter from under the grinder. The way I avoid this scraping off of grounds is to shake the filter during or after the grinding process to lower the level enough to avoid spillage. We have noticed when removing the tray from the platform that there is a lot of grounds loss underneath. I think this comes from the actual grinding process and also from what falls from the grinder’s mouth when the machine is bumped or moved. To clean up errant grounds we have a small Fantik handheld vacuum that we keep under a cabinet to quickly suck up any mess. This isn’t a big deal because the presence of any grinder is going to result in some grounds needing to be cleaned up every day. Here are some things I wish the maker had: an iced-coffee option, and a timer for auto on and off. All in all because of the great tasting coffee this machine makes, we are going to hold on to it. ... show more

  • Good but not perfect!
Color: Black
This, upon online viewing, seemed a great value. Simple design, small footprint, ability to store and grind beans and water were all great points! The main problem I see with the machine is its auto brew function. It seems to work as intended, but that is the problem. It is set to brew three specific amounts. The 8oz was measured at exactly 8 ounces which is good because that is what it is labeled, but what the manufacturers and designers did not seem to realize is that coffee cups usually hold 8 OZ. Who wants a cup of coffee where the coffee is to the brim and leaves no room for even the slightest tipping or bumping resulting in painful burns. This does not even account for those who like cream or sugar, which will clearly not even fit into the cup until some is removed. For an 8oz cup a maximum or 6 oz of coffee should be dispensed. As far as flavor it is on par with any brewed cup of coffee without the use of a paper filter. The filter provided with the machine works fine but you can always tell the difference between a disposable paper filter and a washable filter. The machine heats up and will brew a cup of coffee relatively fast. The auto shut off of 30 minutes seems very much excessive. The auto shut off should be instant because there is no heating to keep the coffee warm after it is brewed. So it should shut off automatically as soon as the brew process has completed. Waiting 30 minutes just seems like a complete waste to me. Overall I like the machine and I will be keeping it, although I hope if they decided to make changes they would send me a free machine because of the ideas I listed here. As far as recommendations it is really kind of iffy. If you drink coffee often and hate cleanup then this is a good machine. ... show more
