  • Easy to assemble and works well
Color: Deluxe Wood Pellet Grill & Smoker
This was a really great product. Assembly was easy and the grill works well

  • Easy to use but not the greatest SMOKER. Pellets are expensive and don't impart much smoke flavor.
Color: Deluxe Wood Pellet Grill & Smoker
Expected more smoke flavor. Even on very low n slow settings the smoke flavor is negligible. We've tried several different woods and have not noticed much difference. I was looking forward to customizing flavors. At this price I wish I'd just gotten a charcoal grill. :(

  • Be nice if it worked
Color: Deluxe Wood Pellet Grill & Smoker
Will not complete a full smoke. The ignitor will stop about 6 to 10 hours in, and the temp falls to air temperature. God forbid you're not tied to the smoker to notice. 50/50 if you can get it to restart. Don't worry, the troubleshooting info blames the consumer if it doesn't work. 3 smoking sessions have been stopped. ... show more

  • Great Mid to budget pellet smoker.
Color: Deluxe Wood Pellet Grill & Smoker
This is essentially an ASmoke 660 with Quisinarts name on it. Assembly was pretty straightforward. This has become our go-to grill, and smoker. I have many smokers, an electric one, and two Kamodo style smokers, but this one has greatly simplified my life. Set it and forget it. There are a few sub-optimal things with this smoker. 1st, there's no pellet cleanout, so if your hopper is full of 10-20lbs of pellets and you want to change from Hickory to something else like Apple, you have to vacuum out the pellets and that will generally ruin them or waste them unless you have a dedicated shop vac for doing so (I do not). So for the most part I simply use competition blends and rarely switch up to single wood smokes anymore. If I really just want Applewood, or Hickory, I'll break out one of the older Kamodo's and use chunk wood. Second, there's no easy ash cleanout, you must pull the grates, pulled the heat deflector to get to the bottom for ash clean out. For this I HIGHLY recommend a dedicated ash vacuum which I purchased specifically for this smoker. Third, this unit doesn't have the burner in the center of the smoker. It's in the left side, 1/4 to 1/3rd of the smoker. This means that side is hotter than the other. Now most smokers have hot spots, when I'm doing a brisket, that's the end the point goes on, no harm no foul. But you do need to be mindful. If you are doing a bunch of wings you'll need to shuffle them along the way or the left side will be more done than the right side. Lastly, the opening to expose the burner to 'reverse sear' is pretty much a joke. This is not a good grill. We still do steaks on it and reverse sear them in either a cast iron pan or the gas grill. The opening just isn't big enough. If I'm cooking 4-5 Prime NY strips and need to sear them, it's a lot of work and too much time to try and do it over this rather small area. Also the 'tab' to slide the cover over is below the grate. I have to use a very long screw driver to get leverage and move it. Normal tongs won't fit in there. Having said all of that, it's a great entry to mid-level pellet smoker that doesn't start with a T. I'm still using it almost a year later and haven't replaced it. It has held up really well, and checking my logs I've smoked over 35 meals on this thing. Over a dozen Full packer briskets, countless pork shoulders, pork chops, chicken wings, and salmon fillets. Even do my Sea bass on this with amazing results. This was my first pellet smoker, and I've looked at others because I now know what I want in my next smoker, and to be honest I haven't found that yet, including from the major brand that starts with T. ... show more

  • Pellet is a nice compromise between gas and true smoker
Color: Deluxe Wood Pellet Grill & Smoker
This is my first foray into smoking and honestly, I think this is the right move for me. An offset smoker requires you to babysit the temps all day which is fun for some but not for me. Plus, I work from home so I can smoke something all day in this while working which I wouldn't be able to do otherwise. The slider that allows you to sear is great since a lot of people complain about the searing ability on a smoker and instead they have to sear in other places. My first smoke on here was just some angus steaks so it only took like an hour but I didn't have to remove them to sear them and they were fantastic. I also did a biscuit test but I think I should have done a higher temp than I did. It's hard to tell in the photos but the hottest spots were along the edges and the center was a tad cooler. TEMPS As far as temps go, if you leave it empty it generally feeds pellets in a way that keeps it hotter than your target temp. However, if you fill the grill surface then it generally hangs around the right temp, so let the lesson be that if you are only doing something very small, maybe set the temp just a tad lower than your actual target temp. CRAFTMANSHIP Overall craftmanship is good with the exception of a dent on the corner of my pellet hopper box. It doesn't impact the performance in any way so I didn't reach out to the manufacturer but documented it anyway just in case. Everything else works perfectly and fits together well. ASSEMBLY I assembled this by myself. It says not to. It definitely says to use two people. I am a 5'8" 155 lb woman and did it alone because I'm stubborn. It was totally fine, maybe not ideal but the only hard parts might be when attaching the legs because the body is round and it rolls and flipping the whole thing right side up which took finesse but I still did it. THERMOMETERS/PROBES The probes work well and it's really nice to have them implemented here and detachable. I also have a bluetooth thermometer with a base as a receiver and it works through the grill lid when I leave the receiver on top of the pellet hopper. ... show more

  • Damaged on arrival.
Color: Deluxe Wood Pellet Grill & Smoker
I bought two versions of this smoker. The first one was smaller and arrived in damaged box. I returned that one and got this one on a separate order. This one was damaged from manufacture on arrival. I’m out of town and it was too much to return it before the holidays so we put it together and used it to smoke Xmas dinner. It still sucked that after two purchases and paying a couple of hundred dollars that my mom is using a damaged “new item” to cook Xmas dinner. Functional there are hot spots directly above the pellet smoker even though there is a heat diffuser/plate to disperse the heat. The temp probe is too close to the burner so it reads hotter than actual temp inside across the actual cooker. Moving the meat away from the hotspot there is less smoke on the far side of the smoker even though you place meat Infront of the outlet pipe. The smoker is ok for the money but their could be more smoke. I plan on using it with a smoke tube for more smoke. ... show more
