I have always used the Cuisinart Pressure Cooker for years. However, I recently bought an InstaPot Max so I could do some canning. I also bought an InstaPot for my mother-in-law. She said all her friends had them so she wanted on. Worst idea EVER...... She tried using hers one time to make beef stew and that was it. Gave it to her daughter. I gave her my old Cuisinart and bought me a new one. WE BOTH LOVE OUR CUISINART'S. Then recently my step daughter (who had always used the Cuisinart that I bought her years ago and the exterior cracked) bought an InstaPot (not knowing about our problems). The most horrible product ever. Doesn’t even compare to the Breville. Customer service is absolutely awful. If you buy it, you’re stuck with it. I have pressure cooked stewed beef for an hour and it’s still not done. Do not purchase!

We already had one for 10 years. One of the kids left the lid out on the stove while the over was on and it warped the top, which is made of plastic with a stainless steel appearance. You will see after about 5 years the stainless steel papers will begin to fleck and peel away. At least if you use yours as much as we have used ours. We bought the new one and put that lid on the old one and it worked perfectly. One time a couple years ago one of the kids put something on the lid that blocked the steam holes. When the pressure built up and there was nowhere to escape it has some built in 3rd pressure seal where it will lift and let a gush of steam out of the lid rather than blowing up. We didn't know about it until we heard a loud rush of air in the kitchen. We rushed in to see it was covered and we uncovered it so the steam could escape like normal. I wouldn't recommend testing this method, but, it's nice to know there are back ups to the back ups. This is a great quality product that will last for many years to come. What I really like about this pressure cooker is the fact that I can brown my meats first and then pressure cook them. Gravy can then be easily made when meat is done. It is “one stop shopping” for a meal. I purchased 3 thus far, including two for my two daughters. They just got theirs for their birthday and were quite excited. I am so glad that I chose Cuisinart.     • Great While They Work- Which Isn't For Very Long

This is a replacement for a Cuisinart pressure cooker purchased in 2015 that was only used during the winter months and not very often. It's actually my third unit. In 2015 the first one shorted right out of the box. Lid locking mechanism failed on the previous one, and the nonstick coating, which is about the same quality as what's on cheap discount store cookware, was coming off. Hopefully this one will last but I doubt it. Have their steam convection countertop oven. Works great but died after four years. Bought another because nobody else seems to offer one. Had their semi-automatic espresso maker. Lasted six years in a one person household where it saw light use. Cuisinart features and design are all great but the stuff doesn't last. Have been replacing dead Cuisinart appliances with Breville whenever possible and doing much better. Cuisinart not the same company after CONair bought the brand. ... show more

Great for browning, can't think of anything else nice to say! I am in my 70's and using pressure cookers over 50 years, both stove top and electric. This is the worst one I ever used. After browning, added other ingredients and liquid. Will bring up to pressure then shut off. HATE IT, waste of money
