The ash catcher below the fire bowl protects the surface beneath your grill from any hot bits of charcoal that may fall through while cooking.

It's a good size for 2-4 people. Feels a little flimsy, but overall it's good quality. Latches work good. It has no lid holder.

I love this tiny grill! Here’s the good things about it: 1. Lightweight 2. Compact 3. Enough but not too much room for food. This thing has me grilling every weekend! Update: 6/2/24 I filled out a message to Cuisinart regarding the poor quality and safety issue with the gates, asking for advice as to whether I was doing something wrong or perhaps had missed a part? No response from Cuisinart. I have received two responses from Amazon asking if I was satisfied with Cuisinart response. And I remarked that I had had no response and was not happy with that, especially with a company name of Cuisinart. No further information received from Amazon. This is very disappointing. I filled out the return paperwork today but, alas, it has to be packaged in original box AND RETURNED BY TOMORROW! I am very unhappy with both customer service at Cuisinart and Amazon lack of follow up. This makes me second-guess so called quality products. ************& I expected with the Cuisinart name that this grill would be more sturdy. I used it today for the first time and the grates do not stay put. They slide around and at one point I was worried that one of my burgers, I was only cooking too, would slide into the charcoal. Is there something I’m missing? I’ve always used the Weber smoky Joe in the past and I guess I should have, gotten one of them again. I’m sadly disappointed that I will have to purchase another. Once assembled it’s not reasonable to figure out how to send this back. Even though I’m still within 30 days. ... show more
